Sitting in place and thinking for a while, Wan Ping's frown gradually relaxed.
"This is truly a big trouble... sigh... it seems the good days are coming to an end."
Having figured this out, Wan Ping decisively stood up, picked up the coat hanging nearby, and walked straight out the door.
It must be said that in a normal mental state, Wan Ping's mind was indeed sharp.
Having made such a big name for himself outside the military district in Beijing, it was not an exaggeration to say he was well-known; at the very least, the military must have him on file.
Under such circumstances, if Wen Yu found out he was in Beijing, what would happen...
With this thought, Wan Ping could already imagine his tragic end...
Compared to his own life, any influence or power simply didn’t matter anymore.
...
After hanging up the communicator, Wan Ping left the room, walking down the dimly lit corridor until he reached a door hidden in the corner of the floor.
Gently knocking on the door, a slightly hoarse and eerie voice came from inside.
"Who?"
"It’s me."
"Creek."
The door creaked open, and Wan Ping walked directly into the room. The pungent smell of blood in the room slowly tightened Wan Ping's brow.
"Arcade, did you bring food back again?"
In the darkness, two pairs of glowing red dots slowly appeared, akin to the eyes of a malevolent ghost, filled with killing intent and malice, staring intently at Wan Ping not far away.
After a moment, the red light gradually faded, and Arcade's completely abnormal voice emerged.
"The food you can provide is far too little. My injuries are urgent, and Caius and Vincent are still hunting me down; I have no choice..."
The dialogue between Arcade and Wan Ping no longer had a clear distinction of hierarchy. It seemed that a lot had happened between the two during this time.
"Have you found any news on Caius?"
After a moment of silence, a gloomy and eerie voice, almost as if his vocal cords had been torn, came from the darkness. Hearing this, Wan Ping slowly shook his head.
"I don't know where Caius has run off to... If it weren't for you revealing your true colors back then, he wouldn't have caught you, and how would we find ourselves in this predicament today? Arcade, my lord..."
The rich teasing in his tone caused Arcade in the darkness to exude an overwhelming killing intent.
However, the severely injured Arcade in front of Wan Ping was clearly at a disadvantage—he was not Wan Ping's opponent!
After a long silence, once Arcade calmed the killing intent and rage within him, he spoke again.
"So why are you here?"
Wan Ping narrowed his eyes, looking in Arcade's direction as if calculating something. Hearing Arcade's words, a barely noticeable cold smile appeared at the corner of Wan Ping's mouth.
"I’m here to inform you of something; we’re leaving now."
"Leaving? Why leave? I haven't fully healed..."
"Because my enemies are about to come knocking."
Wan Ping quickly interrupted Arcade's words.
"Enemies? What enemies could be more terrifying than Caius and Vincent?"
"Haha... hehehe... ahahaha."
The smile at the corner of Wan Ping's mouth grew wider, his voice becoming louder as he looked at Arcade as if regarding a delicious meal.
"Arcade, my lord... I forgot to tell you, sigh, I actually have a nemesis... tsk tsk, and now, my nemesis is in the Beijing gathering place, and it's likely he’ll come looking for trouble soon."
"Oh, by the way, I seem to have never told you, my enemy is named Wen Yu, and there’s some bad news—Wen Yu is very likely collaborating with the military, so finding me here is just a matter of time. So, whether to stay here and wait for them to catch you or come with me, it all depends on you."
After finishing his final words, Wan Ping ignored Arcade's heavy breathing in the darkness, turned, and walked out the door.
"By the way, Arcade, there’s only ten minutes, so hurry up and clean up the garbage on your floor and get rid of some of the rotten smell on you!"
After saying the last sentence, Wan Ping slammed the door of Arcade's room shut, leaving Arcade, hidden in the darkness, along with the stench of blood all over the room.
