As Wen Yu watched Simba's massive figure drawing closer, he tore open the Space Movement Scroll in his hand.
The teleportation direction was set for 10 meters ahead.
The power from the Space Movement Scroll allowed Wen Yu to land swiftly, wasting no time. He once again broke into a frantic escape, while the steel knife in his hand carved bloodstains across his upper body.
Simba's sudden burst of speed had taken Wen Yu by surprise; at this rate, he could not escape Simba's pursuit.
Seeing that his anticipated pounce was dodged by Wen Yu, Simba stumbled slightly, causing his speed to falter.
Looking up at Wen Yu again, he noticed the blood streaming from Wen Yu's body, but his speed was increasing.
Simba's rage had completely overwhelmed his rationality; with a furious roar, he lunged at Wen Yu once more.
Hearing Simba’s heavy breathing drawing nearer, Wen Yu felt a surge of anxiety. Desperate, he plunged the steel knife directly into his abdomen.
The excruciating pain surged through him; the sharp blade even sliced through his intestines. Wen Yu had skillfully managed to inflict significant harm on himself while maintaining his running speed. As for the internal injuries, as long as he was safe, he had ways to heal.
As Wen Yu sprinted faster, Simba relentlessly chased after him, both man and beast disappearing rapidly at the end of the park's road.
…
Inside the park, quiet returned. Next to the treasure land entrance, Wan An's lifeless body lay on the ground, surrounded by pools of blood and scattered organs, exuding an indescribable sorrow.
Three figures slowly approached from the distance; it was Guan Tao and his companions.
After fleeing, the three had not gone far. Seeing Wen Yu finally engage with the one-eyed beast, they were confident in Wen Yu's combat abilities and hoped that after severely injuring the one-eyed beast, they could extract its life from Wen Yu's hands, thus avenging Wan An.
However, the situation suddenly changed. The giant dog seemed to grow stronger as the fight continued, and it became clear to them that revenge was hopeless. Then, the terrifying lion returned to its lair, pursuing Wen Yu and the one-eyed beast deeper into the distance.
The three watched the events unfold from the sidelines.
Once Simba and Wen Yu left the park, they returned once more.
Wan Ping quietly approached Wan An's side, gazing at his deceased brother, tears slipping down one by one.
Removing his protective gear, Wan Ping bandaged the massive wound on Wan An’s waist, ensuring that the internal organs would not spill out, then hoisted Wan An onto his back.
Guan Tao and Lin Li silently observed Wan Ping’s busy efforts, neither stepping forward.
This was a simple funeral, a basic tribute.
Wan Ping, carrying his brother, walked in front of Guan Tao, accepting the cigarette offered by Guan Tao and taking a deep drag.
The ember flared brightly; with the extraordinary lung capacity of a professional, the cigarette was nearly consumed by a third in one breath.
"It can't just end like this, right?" Wan Ping murmured to himself.
"Absolutely not. Wan An cannot die in vain. Someone must accompany him to the afterlife, even if not now," Guan Tao remarked, tossing aside his cigarette butt and gazing quietly at Wan An's bloodied face. He gently wiped the blood away, but it would not come clean.
“Haah.” Wan Ping took a heavy breath, wiping the tears from the corners of his eyes, readjusting his grip on his brother.
“Let’s go.”
With Guan Tao leading, the three slowly began their journey back, though no one spoke. The oppressive atmosphere seemed poised to unleash a fierce storm.
Three individuals, bearing a corpse, gradually faded into the pitch-black night.
…
“Haah, haah…”
Wen Yu gasped for breath, blood continuing to flow from his wounds. Feeling the killing intent lingering behind him, still less than a hundred meters away, he dared not let his guard down for a moment.
His judgment had not been wrong.
After activating his destiny fight ability, as Wen Yu continuously injured himself, losing more blood, his physical fitness rapidly improved, even surpassing the peak of a level two professional.
