The furious roar echoed throughout Las Vegas, and then, a massive black shadow blotted out the sun, charging towards the Red Stone Grand Hotel.
"What's going on? What's happening?"
Claire's panicked voice came through the communicator.
"The plan has failed, save yourself."
"He can't be trying to kill us, right... maybe we could explain things to him, apologize..."
"Idiot."
With a heavy curse, the furious flow directly hung up the communicator, smashed the window of the room, and landed on the street below the Red Stone Grand Hotel.
Then, electrified all over, the furious flow quickly ran through the narrow alley, attempting to use the complex environment of the alleyways to shake off Wen Yu.
...
The thoughts of some people in this world are quite interesting.
On one hand, they hope others will follow the rules, while on the other hand, they themselves cannot resist the enormous temptation of breaking those rules.
The nature of the above reasoning is actually the same as what is happening now.
The military's conspiracy to frame Wen Yu is because they believe they represent the greater good of humanity, so controlling Wen Yu is a matter of course.
Ordinary people—like Claire—do not think there is anything wrong with this. After all, standing on the moral high ground, what they are doing is for the human race, and even... they have no selfish motives.
It's as if Wen Yu must consider the greater good of humanity, otherwise, it would be treason.
And when the truth comes to light, Claire even naively believes that Wen Yu wouldn’t kill the furious flow and Claire, or say, Sequence Three and Sequence Five—after all, we are sequences, the pinnacle of humanity, our value to humanity is immense, dying at the hands of our own kind would be such a waste.
However, they never thought about Wen Yu's feelings.
The greater good of the human race? This topic is too grand for Wen Yu, so grand that he never thought about these things, so grand that he doesn't even care to think about them.
To Wen Yu, the situation is very simple—someone wants to kill me, but they failed, so they're the ones who die!
If you want to kill, you must be prepared to be killed; that is the logic—at least to Wen Yu, this logic has more meaning than any so-called greater good.
"I want to live! That is my only goal! But you harmed me, so you are my enemies!"
Wen Yu’s sense of right and wrong has always been this clear!
And the furious flow is a smart person.
He is very sure of the rage Wen Yu must be feeling right now and is fully aware of Wen Yu’s contempt for anything resembling righteousness. Once captured, Wen Yu might not even say a word to him before going for the kill! So, the furious flow ran swiftly.
...
In the dim alley, a figure darted quickly through the complex terrain.
The lightning surrounding the furious flow had already receded into his body; in this state, the enhancement from thunder to physical condition was even stronger, yet on the outside, not even a hint of lightning was revealed.
And right behind the furious flow was a massive shadow that blotted out the sky.
The clear sound of a dragon’s roar reverberated, announcing who the true master of the skies was.
Standing atop the stars, Wen Yu kept his eyes fixed on the chaotic movements of the furious flow below, the anger in his eyes had transformed into a complete killing intent.
"What’s wrong, Furious Flow, why are you running?"
"Perhaps you could explain to me, tell me that you did nothing in this matter, and we might still have a chance to bury the hatchet, right?"
"Your attitude makes it hard for me to do anything... So, it seems you do know the truth of the matter."
But the furious flow did not utter a sound or offer any defense; he merely kept running.
The killing intent in Wen Yu’s eyes surged instantly.
What Wen Yu had just said was only meant to make the furious flow hesitate for just a moment; a mere moment was all Wen Yu needed to fly above him, and then Wen Yu would directly unleash his methods to eliminate the furious flow in the shortest time possible.
