Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 357: City of Sin 🌆

Published: March 2, 2025

“Hi, friend, welcome to the United States.”

With just a few words, the location was clearly described.

Upon hearing Old Sam's voice, Kuang Liu first glanced at the watch on his wrist, then at the clock hanging on the wall of the small cabin, and nodded gently.

Calculating the time difference wasn't difficult, and judging by Old Sam's appearance, Kuang Liu had already guessed it earlier.

“Well then, where are we now?”

Upon hearing Kuang Liu's question, Old Sam shrugged, then picked out a relatively clean cup and poured a cup of coffee for Kuang Liu before speaking.

“We're in Las Vegas, the gambling city. Of course, that's what it was called before the apocalypse; now we prefer to call it the city of sin.”

“Oh? The city of sin? That's an interesting name. I remember Las Vegas used to be referred to that way.”

Old Sam shrugged, speaking in a mysterious tone.

“It used to be, but it can't compare to the current level of sin! The apocalypse has just ended, zombies have been cleaned up completely, and even mutated beasts can’t stir up much trouble anymore. If you ask me, living in Las Vegas is simply torture. A few big bosses all want to unify the city of sin, their subordinates fight every day for territory, and robbery and murder happen constantly. I really don't know when this world will return to how it used to be.”

As Old Sam sipped his coffee, he sighed.

Upon hearing Old Sam's words, Kuang Liu nodded.

Someone at Old Sam's level certainly didn’t know that the Demon Realm Gate was about to open—this was also a decision made by the high-level leaders of every country. After all, such matters, the truth is bound to cause chaos, and chaos itself is a terrifying disaster!

Kuang Liu didn’t feel the need to share the truth with Old Sam, so he directly asked, “Is there no army in Las Vegas?”

“There is! How could there not be? They’re the ones committing robbery and murder!”

Old Sam’s tone was filled with anger as he complained to Kuang Liu.

“I just heard you guys say you're soldiers from Huaxia. I don’t know how your military operates, but living in Las Vegas is unbearable right now.”

“This broken place, the army doesn’t care at all!”

“Not long ago, Washington D.C. sent people to take over Las Vegas. At that time, things were still somewhat normal. Life was a bit hard, but at least we could survive. But...”

At this point, Old Sam took a sip of coffee, his expression tense.

“Everyone died... I don’t know why, but the entire armed force of thousands was wiped out in their camp.”

Upon hearing this news, Kuang Liu frowned.

Such things had happened with the Huaxia military too!

As the saying goes, ‘heroes break the rules with martial force,’ and for practitioners above the third tier, the effectiveness of firearms had diminished to the extreme. Without firearms, and everyone was a practitioner, who was afraid of whom?

Back when a gathering place was established in a provincial capital in Huaxia, there were instances where some people refused to cooperate with military control, leading to riots that resulted in the massacre of the dispatched troops. Kuang Liu had to intervene to quell that incident.

Thinking of this, Kuang Liu asked again, “Does the U.S. military not care?”

“They do! They sent people over, and then everyone died, right there in the camp, with no signs of injury or battle! This time, instead of sending a large force to die, they sent a Special Operations Team with fewer than a hundred members. They came here but didn’t manage anything, and their big boss was even bribed by Queen Annie from the East District... damn, these incompetent fools wasted the taxes I paid before!”

Old Sam complained angrily, gulping down his coffee.

Kuang Liu, on the other hand, had many thoughts.

Huaxia and the United States have different systems, and the thoughts of the survivors are also different.

But one thing is absolutely the same— the military, being the absolute power holder of a current nation and the owner of the strongest force, would definitely not allow a large territory to become a no-man’s land!
