Wen Yu squinted his eyes.
Although there was something unknown in this treasure land that was playing tricks, the creature was right about one thing: the biggest challenge before him was not finding this unknown entity, but dealing with the Demon Realm Gate in front of him.
If he couldn't handle it, his life would be at stake.
"By the way, little guy, I must tell you that behind this door is a big guy sealed away. Of course, with your strength, you should have a rough idea. Hmm, a ten percent chance of getting through, maybe?"
"Are you kidding me? Ten percent? With my abilities, there's only a ten percent chance of winning? This treasure land is clearly a setup for murder."
"Listen closely, little guy. If you can't defeat this creature, how can you obtain the treasure? It's a great treasure, after all. So do your best: kill it or be killed. I hope you succeed."
The last sentence was said with utmost seriousness by the unknown existence.
"Tch."
Wen Yu scoffed. It sounded nice, but he had already unleashed all his combat power, only to be told he had a mere ten percent chance of winning.
This meant the statement was likely true.
There was a ninety percent chance he would die.
Wen Yu disliked probabilities because they indicated the unknown and suggested a lack of control.
The Demon Realm Gate before him slowly took shape, the pitch-black door exuding a breath of death.
Wen Yu had no idea what the so-called big guy was, but he was all too familiar with demonic creatures.
Any demonic creature was a powerful existence; even the cannon fodder among them was on par with an ordinary practitioner of the same level.
Wen Yu stared intently at the Demon Realm Gate, sliding the newly acquired F-Level Protective Jade into the inner pocket of his protective suit to ensure it could work effectively. He then raised his war blade and carefully focused on the Demon Realm Gate.
"Creek." The mini Demon Realm Gate in front of him slowly opened a crack, releasing a jet of deep gray demonic energy.
Then, a hand covered in scales and sharp claws slowly extended from within. A harsh panting sound could be heard from inside, tightening Wen Yu's chest.
"The sense of oppression is too strong. What in the world is that?"
The Demon Realm Gate opened wider and wider until it was fully ajar.
A humanoid creature stood inside the gate before stepping out.
Nearly two meters tall, bipedal, with a robust physique. Its overall appearance was similar to that of a human, but no one would mistake this monster for a human being.
With a devil-like face, a pair of black curved horns cascaded back from its head, and its pure black eyes revealed no emotion, only the purest desire for slaughter and destruction. Below its eyes, there was hardly any trace of a nose, and not far away was a large mouth filled with sharp teeth.
Although this demonic creature's body proportions were similar to those of a human, its chest and back were thicker and denser, indicating extreme strength in its upper limbs. Its legs were thicker than an average human's, covered in fine grayish-blue scales that reflected a faint glow.
What caught more attention was that this monster had four robust arms, with muscle lines that rippled with every breath it took. The fine scales failed to conceal the terrifying sense of power it exuded. There was no doubt that its sharp claws were capable of tearing any adversary to shreds.
Along the creature's hard back, a row of sharp, fine bone spines protruded, neatly arranged along the spine down to the hips, extending onto a one-meter-long tail. The tail's tip flickered with a blue glow, resembling a blade, causing Wen Yu to feel a sting on his skin.
It was not the massive form he had imagined.
Everyone knew in the apocalypse that a large body could bring immense power, but it also posed a significant problem: the body would inevitably lack flexibility.
The most powerful beings would not have such an obvious weakness; rather, creatures of medium size often possessed exceptional combat abilities, just like humans and... this monster before him.
