“Pah.” Guan Tao spat disdainfully at the zombie on the ground, which had already lost its human form.
Then he crushed the zombie's skull with a kick.
“Challenge successful, reward: 300 points. Would you like to challenge the next level?”
“Give up.” Guan Tao looked disappointed. Even though he knew the challenge wouldn’t end after just four levels, he couldn’t help but feel a bit hopeful.
Moreover, his injuries wouldn’t allow him to continue fighting.
His battle instinct was a mix of madness and calmness.
“Brother Tao, are you okay?” Wan Ping rushed forward as soon as he saw Guan Tao being teleported out, quickly handing over his basic healing potion.
Guan Tao didn’t hesitate and drank the potion directly.
Feeling a warm current surge through him, the bleeding from his wounds quickly stopped, and Guan Tao sighed.
“If the injuries weren’t that serious, I would have continued the challenge, but unfortunately, one of my hands isn’t usable.”
Guan Tao’s expression grew somber.
“That’s already pretty good, big boss. We struggled just to get to the third level,” Wan Ping comforted.
“Hmm.” Guan Tao's expression improved slightly as he pondered for a moment.
“I’ve discovered a problem.”
“What is it?” Not only Wan Ping and the others gathered around, but Wen Yu also perked up his ears.
“I’m really a genius. Did you see that? I just did a flying kick…” Guan Tao's expression changed faster than flipping a book; the frustration vanished in an instant, replaced by a smug grin.
“Pfft.” Not only did Wan Ping and the others look disgusted, but even Wen Yu couldn’t help but laugh.
Seeing Wen Yu unable to hold back and laughing out loud, Guan Tao finally realized there were outsiders present. Once he started boasting, he couldn’t stop.
He awkwardly smiled at Wen Yu.
“This guy is really interesting,” Wen Yu thought, observing Guan Tao’s mix of pride and embarrassment, his mouth curving into a wider smile.
…
“Now that you all have finished your challenges, I’ll begin,” Wen Yu said to the group.
Originally, these few people had little to begin with, and with one bottle of the healing potion already used, Wen Yu had lost the desire to loot.
“Brother, please go ahead. We don’t mind watching from the sidelines, right?”
Guan Tao was quite curious about Wen Yu’s fighting strength. The little round ball hovering on Wen Yu's shoulder was simply too eye-catching. Moreover, Wen Yu now appeared calm and relaxed, clearly not taking the level one basic zombies seriously.
Guan Tao believed his own evolution speed was already quite fast; at least among the practitioners he had met in the past few days, he was the strongest. Naturally, he wanted to assess Wen Yu’s skills.
“No problem, I don’t mind.” What’s it to you? Only afraid you might be too shocked.
Wen Yu was quite confident in his own strength. Not to mention survivors, even among mutated creatures, those stronger than him in the entire Mudanjiang City were few and far between.
He placed his hand on the challenge stone platform, hearing the prompt sound asking if the challenge was about to begin. Wen Yu silently thought “yes,” and then was teleported into the arena.
“Brother Tao, this kid really knows how to show off. You were so fierce just now, and this kid didn’t show any expression. At first, I thought he was a zombie,” Lin Li scoffed at Wen Yu, who was now on the arena.
“This guy should have some skills. Did you see that little ball on his shoulder?” Wan Ping glanced at the little soul beast.
“I was wondering what that thing was. I thought he was going to pull off some magic trick, but then I realized that thing is alive,” Wan An explained.
“Now in this world, even professions have emerged, just like in a game. You never know this kid might have some treasure or something,” Guan Tao spoke quietly. “This kid definitely has something. Let’s watch first; if he’s not strong enough, we can’t be blamed for killing him and taking his stuff.” Money has always been enticing.
