First of all, I would like to apologize to all my genuine supporters who have been backing me. To those on Qidian and QQ Reading, I read all your comments, including the details mentioned in each chapter, as I try to learn from them and make the story better and further!
Recently, it seems that there have been some issues in the plot from your perspective, as it appears I’ve written some unnecessary content.
I have been trying to explain that these elements are called foreshadowing, but you all feel something is off. Perhaps my writing skills are lacking, after all, I am still a novice author, and this is my first book.
On this point, I can guarantee that as long as there are characters with a plot, they will serve a purpose! The more I describe them, the greater their role will be.
I don’t want to mold them into one-dimensional characters. When the entire book is finished, you can look back and see if I have achieved this.
...
Recently, I feel so exhausted, truly exhausted!!!
It’s not just about work-related issues; today, I realized the biggest problem actually lies within this book!
Really.
I have an author group, and I often communicate with other authors there.
In the past couple of days, I have been advising those newbies wanting to write apocalypse stories: don’t write about the apocalypse! It’s incredibly difficult!
Why?
Because most apocalypse stories are set on Earth as the backdrop.
This leads to many, many problems.
Of course, this is a minor issue.
The bigger problem lies in the science fiction genre—apocalypse label.
Most readers who click on the science fiction category inherently have higher expectations than those reading fantasy or Xianxia!
Readers who love science fiction pursue logical consistency!
You want to see intelligent characters, at least not those who are used by the protagonist to constantly show off and slap faces.
I’ve managed to deliver that, and while it may not be perfect, I can assure you that the supporting character development in this book is at least above the baseline!
You want a protagonist who is not a saint.
I’ve also managed that; at least Wen Yu definitely does not belong to that saintly category!
You pursue logical storytelling.
I can also achieve this, but a book is a whole! When I artificially divide it into volumes, you might think each volume is a phase of story development.
But it's not entirely like that.
The third volume is connected to what comes after it!
...
At the beginning of the third volume, I wanted to write more daily life scenes.
However, some readers found the "dog" dialogues to be very silly.
So I changed it.
You feel that many plot points in the third volume are useless! Many characters are unnecessary! Even the Cult of the Demon Worshippers as the antagonist is seen as useless!
So I recently revised more than half of the outline.
But do you know how my outline was designed before that? You don’t know because it was destined to be difficult to deliver!
And I repeatedly explained that these supporting characters and the events happening are called foreshadowing, but you’re too anxious!
The development of a story must always follow a linear path, not a jumpy one!
This story, I need to tell you bit by bit.
This world, I also need to write out for you gradually!
But you may have forgotten that I am also a person.
I cannot write out all the details of a complete world! Even if this world is created by me!
I also cannot function like a machine and not have logical loopholes! That is absolutely unrealistic!
I can only write according to my thoughts, gradually presenting it to you!
I also don’t want to make any statements in the review section anymore because they are useless!
I explained, but you didn’t accept it; then it’s better for me not to explain.
So, dear readers, if you really want to see this world, then at least be a bit more forgiving towards it! At least have some patience and tolerance!
