Chapter 219: Trap 🪤

Published: March 1, 2025

“Retreat.”

Little Snow had just finished speaking when she immediately turned around and headed back towards the cave entrance.

Unfortunately, the trap had already been set, so how could the fish escape easily!

Before the group could walk even 100 meters, the path ahead was already blocked!

Three figures in black robes appeared!

“Uncle Wang, you owe me an explanation!”

Little Snow glared at the three partially visible figures ahead and couldn't help but shout at the soldier responsible for reconnaissance beside her.

Regrettably, Little Snow's words received no response!

From the boundless darkness behind, three more figures slowly emerged.

“Come back.”

A deep voice sounded from one of the figures completely shrouded in a black robe in the middle.

Then, the scout walked directly from Little Snow's side to stand before the black-robed figure.

Seeing this scene, if Little Snow still didn’t understand that she had been set up, then she truly had lived in vain!

“Who are you working for? Peng Jun? Or Li Haoran?”

Little Snow squinted her eyes and asked the person who had just spoken in the middle while seriously sizing up the surrounding black-robed figures.

These individuals were completely covered by black robes, not a hint of skin exposed, and they emitted a faint stench.

Upon hearing Little Snow's question, the six black-robed figures remained silent.

The leading black-robed figure placed a hand directly on Uncle Wang’s head, and then...

A mass of white gas continuously emerged from Uncle Wang’s body, condensing in the black-robed figure’s hand until it formed a quivering mass resembling dough.

Uncle Wang simply stood there silently, and when the white dough-like object finally coalesced, he collapsed to the ground!

He was dead.

...

Observing the bizarre scene before her, Little Snow remained silent.

It was evident that Uncle Wang had long been controlled by someone else and had led their group straight into the trap.

The so-called trap was meant for hunting, and naturally, it would be dug as deep as necessary!

Without the assistance of Sequence Two, Little Snow had no optimistic hopes for the outcome of her group!

“Perhaps we can talk about this. What is your goal? Is it to use me to threaten Commander Lin, or to achieve some objectives with the military? I feel that fighting isn't a good way to solve problems; maybe we can approach the issue from a different angle.”

“For example, you could join Commander Lin's ranks. Trust me, for strong individuals like you, the military would offer decent treatment!”

After Little Snow finished speaking, the scene fell into an eerie silence once again.

After a while, the leading black-robed figure retracted the dough and first glanced at the soldiers in front, then turned to speak to a companion beside him.

“Wan Ping, is the target among these people?”

“No, it isn’t.”

“Hmm, Magpie, scout the direction and find Wen Yu’s location.”

The voice was loud enough for Little Snow and the others not far ahead to hear.

Then, without Little Snow needing to clarify anything further, the remaining soldiers immediately drew their weapons and launched an attack on the three figures blocking their path!

In an instant, gunfire erupted.

“How rude to interrupt others while they are speaking!”

Watching the seemingly intense battle ahead, the leading black-robed figure made no move but instead spoke to the person next to him, who was codenamed Magpie.

“Prepare to awaken Simba, then let your little pets find Wen Yu’s position.”

“Oh, right.”

The black-robed figure seemed to think of something and shouted loudly at the three companions currently fighting Little Snow and the others.

“Leave that woman behind! A tier 3 peak professional, and still a tender young girl, she should taste quite good!”

...

As Wen Yu was about to descend the mountain, there was still no significant movement in the distance.

“Perhaps Simba really is gone.”

Wen Yu muttered to himself.
