The next day, just as the sky had cleared up, a large group of children emerged from the underground space, yawning.
In peacetime, the morning routine consisted of four essential tasks: using the toilet, brushing teeth, washing face, and having breakfast. However, for this bunch of kids, it had been condensed to just one task – or perhaps none at all.
Of course, none of this mattered; it was the apocalypse, and very few cared about personal hygiene. Wen Yu himself had no habit of acting as a babysitter.
Watching the group of children gathered around the one-eyed and Xing, chattering non-stop, Wen Yu couldn't help but rub his forehead.
Indeed, little brats can be the most troublesome!
...
When Zhang Xiao informed them that Wen Yu was planning to take everyone to Central City, the atmosphere suddenly became eerily quiet.
“What’s wrong? Don’t you want to go?”
Wen Yu looked seriously at the hesitant children in front of him and couldn't help but ask.
“That’s not it. But…”
Zheng Ye’s gaze flickered slightly.
“We can’t afford the entrance fee for the city…”
A child behind Zheng Ye quietly voiced the children’s concerns.
“I said, if you come with me, you won’t need to pay the entrance fee.”
Wen Yu replied confidently.
“There’s no rule in Central City that allows free entry. If big brother does that, it will definitely cause conflict with the people there.”
Zheng Ye's voice grew louder as he spoke.
“Big brother treated us to barbecue yesterday, and we are already very satisfied. If this situation will cause trouble for big brother, we’d rather not go to Central City. We can live well here.”
“Right?”
“Right!!!”
A chorus of young voices rose up behind Zheng Ye.
Zhang Xiao stood quietly to the side.
For Zhang Xiao, gaining permanent residency rights in Central City was an enormous blessing!
As for troubling Wen Yu?
As an adult, Zhang Xiao didn't consider such things deeply.
Wen Yu quietly observed the firm and stubborn look in Zheng Ye’s eyes, and after a moment, he began to smile happily.
“For me, this is really not a bother! Really, don't believe me? Come with me and see?”
“If it doesn’t work out, you can always come back, right? And I promise, there won’t be any conflict with the people in Central City!”
“I guarantee it!!!”
Hearing Wen Yu's words, Zheng Ye hesitated for a moment before finally nodding.
Wen Yu watched as the young brigade began to pack their things and pulled out a cigarette from his Spatial Ring, slowly lighting it.
Sure enough, little brats can be quite adorable...
...
When the young brigade had everything packed up, Wen Yu turned and walked out of the camp directly.
Xing quietly lay on top of Wen Yu's head, its tail playfully tugging at the little soul beast on Wen Yu's shoulder, causing the little soul beast to make a fuss in Wen Yu's mind.
“One-eyed, grow bigger!”
Upon hearing Wen Yu's command, the one-eyed's body swelled up instantly, and in just a second, it had returned to its normal height of 10 meters.
“Let’s go, lead the way.”
At Wen Yu’s order, Zhang Xiao stepped ahead of the one-eyed and started walking towards the gathering place of Central City.
Behind, Wen Yu jumped powerfully, sitting atop the one-eyed's head.
10 meters! Nearly three stories high.
The massive dog head was almost the size of a car! Enough for Wen Yu to comfortably lie there!
From this angle, Wen Yu finally understood why so many people loved to be in high places!
It gave a sense of superiority and control over everything!
“Children, let’s set off!”
With a wave of Wen Yu’s hand, the young brigade hurriedly followed in Zhang Xiao’s footsteps, carrying various bags.
Then, the one-eyed set off!
With every step of its pillar-like legs, it created a rumbling sound as if an earthquake had struck!
The enormous size didn’t seem cumbersome at all, and the one-eyed's powerful physical strength allowed it to maintain excellent balance. At least, Wen Yu sitting on its head felt no tremors.
