Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 19: Police Station Strategy 🏢

Published: January 30, 2025

“I have a plan.”

Wang Zhigang's words piqued Wen Yu's interest.

If there was a way to deal with those mutated rats, even killing just one-tenth of them would yield a significant amount of points.

After thinking carefully and noticing Wang Zhigang's almost frantic expression, Wen Yu replied, “Alright, let’s talk as we walk.”

Not wanting to discuss this in front of so many people, he waved to Wang Zhigang, and the two of them disappeared from everyone's sight, one in front of the other.

…

“My wife passed away early, leaving me with a daughter who is eight years old now. Yesterday, when the apocalypse broke out, my daughter happened to be in my office,” Wang Zhigang appeared to be lost in memories as he spoke to himself.

“My daughter is so cute; she is my angel.”

“I thought that even during the end of the world, I could protect her safety. I never expected those rats to ruin everything.”

“Is she dead?”

“Yeah, she was eaten right in front of me.”

Wen Yu shivered as he looked at the increasingly calm Director Wang.

He wasn't afraid of monsters, but a clearly self-destructive madman, especially when they had been comrades, was quite terrifying.

“Let’s hear your plan. Just to be clear, if there's no certainty, I reserve the right to terminate our collaboration.” Wen Yu said directly to Wang Zhigang.

“Don’t worry, I’m absolutely certain. I’m sure you’ll make a big profit,” Wang Zhigang replied with a calm expression that made Wen Yu uneasy.

Nevertheless, Wen Yu couldn’t let go of the points that a large group of mutated rats would yield.

Wen Yu decided to listen to Wang Zhigang's plan.

“There’s explosives in the police station. These explosives are homemade, collected from criminals. I know where they are stored, and the amount is enough to send those big rats to hell.”

“Hahaha, is that your plan?” Wen Yu couldn’t help but feel exasperated; this was nonsense.

“Just hear me out. There aren’t many zombies at the back door of the police station. I originally planned to use them as a backup to let the zombies and mutated rats fight to the death while I went in through the back door to avenge my daughter. But as you can see, the mutated rats not only remained unharmed, but they also grew stronger.”

“Relying on zombies is clearly unrealistic. With just the two of us, we can’t kill many. So, I plan to storm in through the back door and detonate the explosives, blowing the entire police station up. After that, you can come back to mop up the remaining rats. Sounds like a good plan, right?”

Director Wang spoke in a calm tone about this plan of mutual destruction.

The more Wen Yu listened, the more he was astonished.

“Are you sure about this?”

“Absolutely.”

Looking into Wang Zhigang's lifeless eyes, Wen Yu silently nodded.

“Indeed, madmen are unreasonable.”

…

Under the faint moonlight, the battle between zombies and mutated rats continued.

The difference was that the zombies, originally charging at the mutated rats, were being diverted along the way, instead flowing toward a narrow street.

This was the location carefully chosen by Wen Yu and Wang Zhigang, a narrow street that could only accommodate three people standing side by side, with a dilapidated residential building next to it.

Wen Yu and Wang Zhigang had been here for several hours, from the overwhelming tide of zombies at the beginning to the few scattered zombies now. During this time, the two had taken several breaks in the residential building and finally managed to clear out the large group of zombies.

Watching the points continue to rise, Wen Yu couldn't help but smile widely.

He casually approached an Exchange Stone Pillar and queried, “Check points.”

“Remaining points: 2036.”

Wen Yu thought carefully, first exchanging for an F-Class Steel Blade, as his previous one had dulled.

Then he exchanged for 14 first-level attributeless magic crystals.

Glancing at the list of exchanges that included E-Class war blades and armor, Wen Yu couldn't help but grimace; exchanging for E-Class equipment required being a second-level practitioner, which Wen Yu was not currently qualified for.
