January 1, 2017, the book is published!
March 18, 2019, the book is completed!
Two years, two months, and eighteen days... Well, to be honest, it has been quite a long time. When you break it down, there aren’t many two-year spans in life.
The apocalyptic summoning frenzy is officially complete. At this moment of finishing the entire book, I actually have a lot of feelings, but let's save those reflections for later.
As usual, let’s start with a wave of gratitude!
Thank you to all the readers! It is because of your companionship that Big White could persist for more than two years.
Also, thanks to the platform and the editors; it is because of them that this book exists and reaches more people.
Lastly, thanks to myself...
Honestly, I am not someone who can easily persist. To spend more than two years continuously doing one thing is something I would have never imagined in the past.
But how should I put it... it’s a sense of responsibility.
Big White has always believed that writing, whether good or not, is a skill, while whether it can be completed or not speaks to one’s character—self-praise, my skills aren't that great, but my character is decent.
...
Well, now it’s time for serious concluding remarks...
The original intention of writing this book was very simple—I love reading apocalypse stories. As I read, I felt that the tropes were quite similar, so I wanted to write an apocalypse story that I wanted to create—this is how this book started.
In fact, a large part of why people write comes from this initial love for web literature.
But once I entered this circle, I realized... it was much harder than I thought.
Really, it became a lot more difficult…
At the beginning, this book was written quite easily; perhaps my writing wasn’t good, but it was indeed very relaxed. However, as more characters were introduced and the storyline expanded, the entire story became increasingly tricky.
To put it simply, it became unmanageable (don’t think too much about it…).
The outline was revised repeatedly, and even the detailed outline was changed again and again, leading to a version far removed from the initial intention.
This is absolutely my fault; I must take responsibility for it—I overestimated my control over the text!
Big White is a newcomer who dived headfirst into the web literature circle. Likewise, I encountered all the pitfalls that newcomers typically face...
But as I mentioned before—whether writing is good or not depends on skill, and whether it can be completed is about character.
Since it’s a story, it should have a beginning and an end... There was a time when writing became really hard and unbearable—that was the specific manifestation of it becoming unmanageable.
During that period, both my personal life and my writing had problems, and here, I want to thank those readers who have always stood by me. Thank you so much...
Having talked about the issues with the book, let’s discuss the reader group.
Actually... well, how should I say this, I feel quite sorry for the readers in the group.
After establishing the reader group, I have hardly shown up—actually, I have a bit of social anxiety and really enjoy immersing myself in my own world, unable to extricate myself... This led to me not managing the reader group very well...
I don’t particularly like interacting with others...
I apologize for the poor experience I have brought to everyone...
...
Well, what else should I say...
Actually, there isn’t much else I want to express. Since the story of the frenzy has concluded, what I need to do is learn from this experience and write an even better story, that’s it...
As for the next book, I haven’t decided yet, but it should be a challenge related to infinite stream—which is also a type I enjoy. However, I need to take a couple of days off and organize the outline and detailed outline for the new book properly.
Let’s meet again after a while!
