Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 14: "Police" đźš“

“Clack clack” A crisp sound echoed as Wen Yu pried open the security door and entered inside. He casually dispatched the zombie that had come running at the noise and carefully surveyed the interior of the house.

It had been nearly a day since he had parted ways with the future Guardian Squad. Wen Yu was making his way to Riverside Park, killing zombies along the way.

As the sky began to darken, Wen Yu stopped his day of fighting and sought refuge in a nearby residential complex, diving into a home, ready to rest for the night.

He rummaged around the room for some food, simply filling his stomach, before heading straight to the master bedroom to recuperate and prepare for his trip to Riverside Park the next day.

After a day of battle, even Wen Yu's professional physique couldn’t escape the overwhelming fatigue.

Lying on the soft bed, he took a moment to reflect on the gains and losses of the day.

“Hmm, my physical attributes have reached 3 points, and I've spent 50 points to exchange for an F-level protective suit. Not bad,” he thought.

The protective suit was worn under Wen Yu's outer layer, resembling a bodysuit. Aside from his head and hands, the suit covered and protected all other parts of his body.

The F-level protective suit was perfect for defending against bites from ordinary zombies, meaning Wen Yu would no longer fear being surrounded by small groups of zombies.

Lost in thought, Wen Yu gradually drifted into a hazy sleep.

...

“Wait for me, Officer Xiao, Officer Xiao, wait!”

Not far from Wen Yu's residential area, a group of four was frantically fleeing.

Chasing them were three zombies, but these zombies were clearly different from normal ones. They were slightly faster than humans, and their fingernails had grown long, resembling short daggers on their hands.

A deep growl echoed, revealing serrated, sharp teeth in their gaping mouths.

“Damn it.” As the plump man lagged behind, it was evident that the three first-level zombies were about to catch up.

The burly middle-aged man in police uniform at the front quickly turned around, swinging his fire axe to strike one of the first-level zombies, staggering it momentarily.

“Faster, Secretary Wang, hurry up!”

Officer Xiao shouted at the bulging, bald middle-aged man.

Seeing that Officer Xiao had stopped the zombies, Secretary Wang didn’t look back and sped forward.

The young couple at the front noticed that Officer Xiao had turned around to fight the zombies. The man wanted to go back to help Officer Xiao, but his girlfriend pulled him back firmly.

Looking at his girlfriend’s fearful and worried expression, the young man sighed and dragged her to run faster ahead.

Officer Xiao gazed at the three first-level zombies in front of him, feeling a sense of despair.

Since yesterday, everything in the world had changed, starting with the emergence of man-eating monsters.

The police station's defensive forces should have been more than capable of handling the zombies. Moreover, the police who had killed zombies discovered the secret of points and had successfully transferred every combat-ready officer in the station.

Such power allowed the police station to gather nearly a hundred survivors on the first day of the apocalypse.

However, an unexpected disaster struck.

A group of rats larger than house cats surged out from the sewers of the police station, attacking anyone they encountered.

Originally, the professionals in the police station intended to fight bravely, but who would have thought that despite their small size, these rats had considerable strength, and their mutated front teeth were even harder than steel.

The most crucial point was that there were far too many of them.

Thus, the police station's defensive forces collapsed, and all the survivors scattered in panic, only to be continually bombarded by zombies on the streets. The entire survivor team was completely disbanded.

By the time Officer Xiao had run far away, only Secretary Wang and the young couple remained by his side.
