Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 1356: Clearing the Field 🧹

Published: March 2, 2025

The Mechanical Warriors, Mountain Puppets, and Clone Legion joining the battle immediately alleviated the tremendous pressure on Qin Tian's forces.

Orders from the rear soon followed.

"Retreat to the second defense line; leave the main battlefield to them."

Upon receiving the order, Qin Tian promptly organized personnel for an orderly retreat—even Arthur, unable to endure three consecutive days of intense fighting, obediently followed Qin Tian back to the second defense line.

At the artillery front.

The soldiers withdrawn from the battlefield set up defenses in front of the artillery legion and then took a brief rest.

They hadn't completely retreated.

On a large-scale battlefield, utilizing the Mechanical Warriors and Clone Legion was a first for Beijing. Although small-scale experiments had been conducted with excellent results, who knew if anything would go wrong on such a grand scale?

The main force on the battlefield indeed belonged to them, yet Qin Tian's legion had to sweep through as well, both to protect the artillery legion and to prevent unexpected occurrences.

However, given the substantial funding the Beijing Research Department consumed yearly, Wen Yu didn’t allow any slack; the Mechanical Warriors and Clone Legion on the battlefield performed exceptionally.

After adjustments, the individual strength of the Clone Legion had reached level eight. Even though they might not reach the peak of level eight, they were at least mid-level eight. Coupled with individual battle attire, alloy war blades, and even combat angel stimulants and self-detonation devices within their bodies, each clone could easily take down two to three peak-level eight demonic clan members.

That was quite satisfying...

The time spent deploying a clone warrior wasn't long, and the resources used weren't that excessive. Being able to trade the lives of these clones for the precious lives of professionals was, in anyone's eyes, a worthwhile deal.

More terrifying were the Mechanical Warriors.

These metal monsters fearlessly entered battle, boasting strong physiques and even stronger firepower. Various weapons thoroughly armed every model, and under Lin Haifeng's unified coordination, these steel warriors operated cohesively with strict commands, exhibiting high combat intelligence. Under their assault, the Soul Puppet Legion didn’t even need to engage much—they merely stood slightly behind the front line, casually harvesting the soul energy and Creation Energy from the demonic creatures that perished, serving effectively as battlefield cleaners.

In the distance, Fran, in the command room, felt a weight lift off his chest as he reclined in his chair, a smile spreading across his face.

Given the current situation, the Mechanical Warriors and Clone Legion were sufficient to serve as the absolute main force in this battle. Fran even contemplated applying the same methods in other lower-level battle zones to stabilize the situation on the Layered Battlefield completely.

A surge of unwarranted confidence passed through Fran as he thought, if the demonic clan only had such methods, this comprehensive offensive would surely come to naught, and the task entrusted to him by Wen Yu could be completed effortlessly.

It wasn't until the one-eyed creature beside him suddenly sprang up, bouncing on all fours to the front of the screen, that Fran was pulled from his thoughts. The one-eyed creature stared intently at the screen and after a moment, raised its paw.

"Old man, what's this?"

"Eh?"

Fran was puzzled and followed the direction pointed out by the one-eyed creature.

He saw the Demon Realm Gate on the screen suddenly exhibiting unusual activity just as the Mechanical Warriors and Clone Legion had stabilized the situation.

...

Green liquid slowly poured out from the Demon Realm Gate, flowing like a gentle stream.

As soon as this green liquid came into contact with Earth's air, it instantly vaporized. As more and more liquid flowed out, the green mist grew denser, until a dim green fog enveloped the entire front line battlefield.
