“Boom!”
The soul energy erupted wildly, as if time had frozen in an instant.
Wen Yu engaged in a show of respect before resorting to force...
Respect meant he expressed his thoughts to Bai.
Force meant he would act on what he desired without waiting for Bai’s approval.
Although searching through memories was undoubtedly an act that could end friendships...
Who cared?
Wen Yu certainly did not!
What he wanted was absolute control over everything!
In that moment, under the intense pressure of his soul power, Bai appeared as fragile and powerless as an ant facing a giant.
As soon as Wen Yu’s words reached Bai’s ears, Wen Yu’s right hand had already touched the top of Bai’s head.
With Wen Yu’s strength, Bai could not possibly refuse the “memory search”—at least, that was what Wen Yu believed...
Then, an unexpected event occurred.
The soul energy rushed into Bai’s brain, attempting to uncover all of his secrets. However, just as the soul power was about to take effect, a hazy white light suddenly shone from Bai’s body.
The light was weak yet extremely powerful; this energy not only instantly wiped out Wen Yu’s soul energy but also broke through Wen Yu’s temporal seal in the next moment.
The white light and soul energy frantically clashed, producing a harsh noise. When Wen Yu instinctively retracted his right hand as if electrocuted, Bai finally reacted.
He instantly left the sofa, moved near the elevator, and a moment of panic flashed in his gaze as he looked at Wen Yu, but he soon regained his composure.
“What do you want to do?”
Bai questioned sternly, though somewhat cowardly, while Wen Yu merely gazed at the fading white light on Bai’s body, his eyes filled with disbelief.
“Sovereign? This is the power of a sovereign!”
The nature and strength of this white light left Wen Yu completely convinced of this judgment!
“This is not!”
“Damn it, I knew you were up to something!”
Bai’s evasive arguments had no effect on Wen Yu, who simply continued to watch him, his aura reaching a peak in an instant.
Wen Yu decided not to look at the memories or delve into the past because he understood that once he got involved with a sovereign, things would become extremely complicated and he would have no choices left!
Taking advantage of the few seconds after discovering the problem, he resolved to deal with it violently, opting for a preemptive strike and playing dumb—this was what Wen Yu needed to do!
And he indeed acted on it...
A solid wave of energy shot out instantly, piercing through the foundations of the Lone Wanderers' Mutual Aid Union, breaking through the earth layers, moving through continental plates, and heading straight into the void, crashing into some unknown corner.
However, this blow did not achieve the effect Wen Yu desired.
The energy stream penetrated Bai’s body, immediately appearing as if it had pierced a holographic projection and landed behind Bai, but it inflicted not a scratch on him.
Noticing Wen Yu’s attack, Bai gasped in shock and began inspecting his body. Upon realizing he was unharmed, a blatant look of relief appeared in his eyes.
This was not his own power; it was an additional life-saving measure granted to Bai by the sovereign.
And when this life-saving measure activated, it meant that no one, except the sovereign, could take his life at this moment!
“Don’t waste your effort; you can’t kill me...”
Bai said with a hint of resignation, glancing back at Wen Yu.
Realizing that his attack had been ineffective, Wen Yu clenched his fists and squinted his eyes but did not make another move.
There was only one opportunity; failing in the first attack meant Wen Yu had completely lost the chance to kill Bai.
But the issue did not stop there.
When the white light on Bai flickered, Wen Yu effectively triggered a warning mechanism.
He sensed that if he struck again, it would surely draw the attention of the sovereign.
What was coming was the fourth entity that Wen Yu had been hiding, rather than the one that was openly present!
