He casually bought a meal from a street vendor and strolled leisurely through Perde City like a normal tourist, admiring the sights. Then, Wen Yu glanced at his watch, checked the time, and looked into the distance.
“Boom!”
Suddenly, a deafening explosion erupted, orange-red flames lighting up the entire night sky like fireworks.
For a moment, alarm sirens blared wildly throughout Perde City. Figures in uniform soared into the air, rapidly heading toward the explosion site.
As the third largest city under the Regas faction, Perde City’s deployed forces spoke for themselves — more than a dozen elite squads of tenth level limit breaker experts. Within Perde City, they were like raindrops blending into the sea, hardly causing any significant disturbance.
In fact, such sabotage operations behind enemy lines were not uncommon among the supreme council of seven. When elite squads encountered capture, the city guards wouldn’t kill them outright but would arrest them as bargaining chips for negotiation.
So, elite warriors like Wen Yu’s kind would receive commendations and recognition if they escaped successfully. If they didn’t, it wasn’t considered too dangerous.
Of course, this was all assuming they didn’t commit some “heinous acts that would incite universal wrath”...
After the first round of explosions, more blasts erupted from all directions. Wen Yu’s tactical terminal buzzed with reports and alarms from various squads. Overall...
They still had a sliver of chance to escape.
After all, these tenth level limit breaker elite squads weren’t just cannon fodder...
But all of that no longer concerned Wen Yu.
He simply strolled at ease, watching all around while listening to the city’s movements.
Eventually, Wen Yu stopped in front of an unremarkable apartment building.
...
The apartment was small, seven stories tall, superficially dilapidated, worn, and neglected.
However, as Wen Yu’s powerful perception swept over it, a smile gradually appeared on his face.
Decades of undercover experience meant that if Wen Yu hadn’t found some hidden information here, it would be a joke. This place was the "spark" worthy of his intervention that Wen Yu had discovered...
Creak
As the apartment door was pulled open, Wen Yu stepped inside.
“Hello, please register!”
The elderly doorman didn’t even look up as he spoke, but the aura of a tenth level limit breaker expert emanating from him blazed like a torch in Wen Yu’s perception.
A tenth level limit breaker expert, working as a doorman...
Wen Yu slowly raised his hand.
With a burst of black light, the entire apartment walls were instantly shrouded. Following this came the doorman’s deep roar and an angry, powerful punch.
Bang!
Blood and flesh exploded, and the loyal doorman was reduced to a pool of gore. Yet the low roar seemed like a signal because, in an instant, the whole apartment seemed to come alive.
One tenant after another crawled out of their rooms—various races, different clothes, diverse faces—but what they all shared was the aura they radiated.
All were peak level 10 or higher!
...
Boom!
A sound like an earthquake woke Feller from his sleep.
He rubbed his eyes in confusion and looked outside the window, but all he could see was a deep, impenetrable darkness.
Puzzled, Feller waited until a gentle knock sounded on the door before turning toward it.
He tried to sense the situation outside with his early fifth level perception ability, but some unknown force seemed to block it, rendering his efforts useless.
“Who is it?”
Reluctantly, Feller asked the simplest question.
“...Delivery.”
After a brief silence, a voice outside gave an answer that was part laugh, part cry.
“You’re lying to me...”
Feller wasn’t stupid. While replying to the voice outside, he turned to check if he had any other escape routes. But with a loud boom, the door was shattered entirely, and a stranger strode inside.
Feller immediately looked toward the door, where several bodies lay scattered, blood flowing and pooling with a pungent stench.
