Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 119: Dream? Reality? Cannon Fodder? 💭

Published: March 1, 2025

As the voice of the treasure land guardian faded away, a huge white light enveloped the entire Demon Island.

Wen Yu suddenly felt his body being pulled by a tremendous force, continuously flying upward, higher and higher.

Until the entire view of Demon Island appeared before Wen Yu's eyes.

Until Demon Island became just a small dot.

Until Wen Yu lost consciousness.

...

"Plop."

A large amount of bone-chilling cold water poured down on him!

With Wen Yu's physical condition, he would normally not care about what they called "cold water" on Earth.

But this time, it was different!

The so-called cold water was far colder than any cold water on Earth!

Wen Yu immediately jolted awake and jumped directly from the ground.

Before he could even react, a more chilling voice came through.

"Number 22956, the cannon fodder regiment you lead attempted to escape during the war, so we have placed your entire regiment under 30 days of confinement. I believe you have deeply recognized your mistake. Now, return to your barracks and fulfill your mission!"

A strange language echoed, but surprisingly, Wen Yu could understand the meaning of the words!

As the voice faded, a sudden light appeared in the darkness!

It was the door of the confinement room.

Wen Yu took a deep breath, then began to survey his surroundings.

In the small, dim room, there was trash and clutter everywhere, and the foul-smelling sewage on the ground even submerged Wen Yu's feet.

He carefully sensed the power within him; fortunately, the power was still there, and the little soul beast was still floating around his ears in a daze.

He then plunged his consciousness into the second soul realm, and a massive one-eyed figure immediately appeared before Wen Yu.

He looked around and noticed that nothing was missing from his spirit pet and Spatial Ring. Wen Yu took a deep breath and followed the direction of the light, walking straight out.

Outside the door stood a tall figure proudly.

"Number 22956, follow me. I will take you back to the barracks."

Wen Yu immediately nodded and exhaled.

Fortunately, I didn’t have to find the barracks myself; that would have truly been a trap for me!

Seeing that the trial also resolved his troubles, Wen Yu carefully examined the figure in front of him.

About 1.9 meters tall, with bulging muscles, indicating that this person possessed great strength.

Judging by the proportions and appearance, he resembled a Western Caucasian, the only difference being his head full of shining silver hair.

Wen Yu’s heart skipped a beat; he couldn’t forget the last words from the treasure land guardian.

"Welcome to my world."

"Your world?"

The confusion in Wen Yu's eyes flashed away.

"Sir, may I ask where this is? I seem to have forgotten some things."

Wen Yu feigned pain as he inquired.

The silver-haired man hesitated briefly in his steps, then slowly replied.

"Well, the taste of confinement is not pleasant, right?"

The silver-haired man said lightly, but Wen Yu could still detect some disdain, schadenfreude, and even a touch of empathy in his tone.

"Let me remind you, this is Shan Lan Star, Silver Moon Holy City, in the third legion’s military camp. As the commander of the 94th cannon fodder regiment under the third legion, you not only failed to lead the charge during last month's battle but also tried to escape at night, and were captured by our law enforcement team and put into confinement!"

"By the way, you little second and third-tier brats still think that once you leave the holy city, you can stride toward a beautiful tomorrow?"

"Ridiculous!"

With slightly sarcastic words, the silver-haired man recounted the events leading up to this moment, which only left Wen Yu more confused.

"Shan Lan Star? Silver Moon Holy City? Third Legion?"

Wen Yu muttered in a barely audible voice.

"Alright, we're here. Go in."

After walking for about ten minutes, the silver-haired man stopped, then stepped aside, revealing a simple barrack before Wen Yu.

"Oh, and remember, this time, considering you are first-time offenders and that there is a severe shortage of personnel, we have specially given you some leniency. If this were ten years ago, any instance of desertion would have resulted in execution without mercy!"
