“Come in!”
A familiar voice came from inside the door. Hearing this voice, Wen Yu was slightly taken aback, then quickly realized who the owner of the voice was.
As the Corpse Puppet pushed open the door, everything in the room came into Wen Yu's view—judging by the scene, it appeared that a meeting was being held by the Beijing side, with the leader being Lin Haifeng's son-in-law, Fang Bai.
Thinking about Fang Bai, Wen Yu recalled that they hadn't seen each other for over a decade, with their last meeting occurring during the second sequence ranking battle. Compared to more than ten years ago, Fang Bai had matured quite a bit, sporting a neatly trimmed short beard and his eyes sparkling with energy, evidently having improved significantly in strength.
“It turns out to be the Corpse Puppet! I was just about to send someone to find you. What a coincidence! Please find a place to sit down,” Fang Bai greeted simply, appearing both enthusiastic and appropriately confident.
The Corpse Puppet merely nodded in response and then took a seat on an empty chair.
“Let’s continue our earlier discussion…”
Fang Bai signaled for the meeting to proceed. The specifics of the discussion revolved around the arrangement of the front-line battlefield and combat strategy. After listening for a while, Wen Yu lost interest and turned his attention to the Beijing powerhouses seated around him.
The most familiar faces were undoubtedly those of Qin Tian and Arthur, who were sitting in the first and second positions to the left of Fang Bai. Arthur hadn’t changed much in the past decade; his aura was calm, as solid as a mountain, with a serious expression on his face as he attentively listened to Fang Bai's strategic deployment. However, Qin Tian's demeanor made Wen Yu frown deeply.
At this moment, Qin Tian seemed gloomy, as if someone owed him money. As Wen Yu got closer, he could even smell the alcohol emanating from Qin Tian. He had no idea what had happened to Qin Tian over the years.
However, recalling how Qin Tian had performed astonishingly during the sixth sequence ranking battle, firmly securing the fourth position, Wen Yu didn't want to dwell on Qin Tian's current state—there’s nothing in this world one can't get through as long as one is alive and has strength; the rest is just trivial.
Yet among those present, Qin Tian was not the strongest. To the right of Fang Bai, two young men around seventeen or eighteen were sitting upright in their chairs, listening intently to Fang Bai's strategic deployment, their serious expressions resembling diligent students paying attention in class.
Wen Yu naturally recognized these two—they were the leaders of the new generation, Lin Que and Fang Yuqiong, one being Fang Bai's nephew and the other his biological son.
Curious about the new generation, Wen Yu walked over and sized them up for a long time.
Both of them were quite striking; Lin Que was tall and imposing, clad in black heavy armor that exuded a fierce aura, which masked the youthful naivety that came with his age. In contrast, Fang Yuqiong had completely inherited the good looks of his parents, looking fair and clean—definitely a pretty boy.
He was much more handsome than Wen Yu...
The key point was their strength. Lin Que’s prowess needed no elaboration, as his current status as sequence two had already proven everything. As for Fang Yuqiong, Wen Yu took a closer look and realized that this kid seemed to have held back during the sixth sequence ranking battle—within that seemingly delicate body surged a dense aura of dark energy. Wen Yu wasn't clear on Fang Yuqiong's skill set, but a quick assessment led him to conclude that this kid was not inferior to Lin Que sitting next to him.
Aside from these few, Wen Yu recognized no one else present—Fran was stationed in Beijing with Caius, and Lin Haifeng had some old acquaintances by his side. Fang Bai had Qin Tian, Lin Que, and others, making them a strong force; at least, resisting the demonic disaster shouldn't be too difficult.
