About five hours later, Wen Yu finally arrived at the destination of this mission.
Looking at the spatial passage ahead that emitted a faint white light, Wen Yu let out a soft breath.
It took about eight hours to walk from the Negative 911th Floor to the Negative 998th Layer. The time wasn't long, and the pursuers he expected did not appear. Furthermore, Wen Yu had been cautious all the way, using dark binding to mask the presence and aura of a few people. Overall, the journey was safe and sound.
After putting in so much effort, they finally reached the end.
The entrance to the Negative 999th Layer of the Demon Palace was right in front of them. At this point, Bai no longer needed Wen Yu's assistance. He gently broke free from the dark binding that Wen Yu released to help him accelerate, stepping forward one step at a time until he stood before the spatial passage.
With devotion and sincerity, he resembled a pilgrim.
As the faint white light flickered, Bai and Ye Nan's figures disappeared into the passage one after another. Wen Yu beckoned Faceless to go ahead, and after sensing that there was no danger, he stepped in as well.
...
This time, the teleportation was somewhat lengthy and had significant side effects.
Even Wen Yu felt dizzy in the swirling space, and as soon as his feet landed, it felt as if he were car sick and couldn't find his direction. Once the negative effects subsided, Wen Yu turned to look beside him; there lay Bai and Ye Nan on the ground, their eyes swirling with stars, vomiting uncontrollably.
Taking the opportunity, Wen Yu immediately surveyed the environment around him.
What came into view was an extremely long corridor, nearly dozens of meters wide, with no end in sight. No one knew where it extended to, and on both sides of the corridor was endless void, dotted with star-like glimmers, resembling stars in the night sky.
The environment here was vastly different from the junkyard they had entered earlier. There were no dark currents filled with malice, but rather a long, narrow corridor that only went in one direction. More importantly, Wen Yu spread out his perception and observed that he did not sense any life aura in this area.
"No enemies?"
The question came from Wen Yu's mouth as he turned to look at Bai, who at that moment was still vomiting. Upon hearing Wen Yu's question, Bai gently shook his head.
It wasn't that there were no enemies; Bai simply didn't know whether there were any enemies here!
And now that they had arrived, there was no longer any need to hide the remaining information Bai had.
...
"This is the bottom layer of the Demon Palace where the origin pool is located. Of course, it's not just the origin pool here; the junkyard of the Demon Palace is also on this layer. I don't know what else is here; the information given by the immortal emperor was only this much."
Once Bai felt a bit better, he immediately began explaining what he knew to Wen Yu. However, this information was as good as nothing—he didn't even know the exact location of the origin pool.
In other words, everything needed to be explored by the two of them on their own.
After Bai eased the dizziness from the teleportation, the two of them promptly got up and walked along the corridor.
...
There was only one corridor, and no forks; behind them was the location where they had teleported—a huge round platform. This saved them the time of exploring for options.
With only one path, they could just proceed!
The corridor was straight, long, and made from unknown building materials, but Wen Yu could feel the hardness of the material used for the corridor. It even carried some unknown energy. After a brief test, Wen Yu found that his usual attacks hardly made any impact on the corridor.
Ye Nan continued to lead the way, Faceless brought up the rear, while Wen Yu and Bai stood in the middle to provide support. However, upon reaching a crucial place like the origin pool, Wen Yu could not afford to speed up recklessly. The group could only move forward at a normal pace. About thirty minutes later, the corridor finally reached its end.
