Doomsday Summoning Frenzy

Chapter 1025: Evan and Nis đź‘«

Published: March 2, 2025

A busy day began.

Evan crawled out of the damp, unwashed bedding that hadn’t seen a cleaning in who knows how long, brushing his teeth and washing his face with bleary eyes.

He picked out a not-so-dirty outfit from a mountain of old clothes, put it on, and then headed to the dining hall. After breakfast, he chatted with a few colleagues before setting off to the new laboratory together.

Everything seemed much the same as usual.

Well, just a different person, that’s all...

The entire Spatial Laboratory was immense; even the journey from the dining hall to the lab required a Magic Energy Vehicle for transport. However, Evan was a level one researcher and thus held a certain status within the Spatial Laboratory, so he didn’t need to mention the luxury of a dedicated vehicle.

The Magic Energy Vehicle raced along the steel streets at incredible speed, and soon they arrived at Evan's new workplace.

“The Demon Realm Gate Research Institute...”

Alright, it's famous for being the strongest weapon for the demonic clan to invade other worlds—the Demon Realm Gate was developed and birthed here. However, Wen Yu had little interest in such matters; he merely followed Evan's lead into the laboratory, intending to meet the big boss here...

Rumor had it that this was Evan's arch-nemesis—Nis.

A hideous tentacled monster!

...

“Welcome, my friend!”

Slimy tentacles wrapped around Wen Yu, and the countless suckers on the eight tentacles caused a ticklish sensation. Wen Yu could even feel one of the tentacles trailing down his waist, heading toward a mysterious place...

“MMP...”

“Ah? Dear Evan, what did you say?”

“I said I’m very pleased too...”

Wen Yu quickly wriggled free from Nis’s tentacles and looked at the grotesque squid-like face, his mind buzzing with confusion. He could even hear the quiet laughter of the onlookers around him.

Taking a deep breath, Wen Yu suppressed his anger, shifted his gaze back to Nis, and blandly said, “Nis, assign me some work; my research spirit is burning fiercely!”

Such a chuunibyou statement did not provoke any reaction—these researchers raised in the Demon Palace had only one mission in life: scientific research. That was their entirety...

Nis merely waved his tentacles, making what looked like a nodding motion.

“Follow me, from now on you’ll be in charge of the improvements to the two-way teleportation of the Demon Realm Gate. Oh, by the way...”

At this point, Nis leaned in closer to Wen Yu and whispered, “Little darling, now that you’re here, you’ll never escape my grasp...”

In response, Wen Yu merely chuckled lightly.

“I’m looking forward to it too...”

...

The technological advancements of the Demon Realm were undeniably more advanced than those of Earth.

For instance, when the Demon Realm Gate first appeared on Earth, it stunned the entire world... However, in the Demon Realm, this was merely a product from countless years ago. With the demonic clan continuously conquering other worlds and absorbing their technology, the current Demon Realm Gate had undergone countless improvements.

Just like the position Nis had assigned to Evan—the two-way teleportation improvements for the Demon Realm Gate.

In their vision, the Demon Realm Gate should function like a regular door, allowing any demonic creature to come and go freely. Once this improvement was completed, the strategic value of the Demon Realm Gate would significantly increase, which was no small matter.

However, Wen Yu was completely at a loss about this.

Although he had absorbed all of Evan's memories, he did not delve deeply into or digest the knowledge related to scientific research—this was Evan’s pride and livelihood, but it was of no use to Wen Yu.

Wen Yu didn’t need to do Evan's work; he just needed to borrow an identity.

Thus, in the spacious laboratory, Wen Yu only briefly met his nominal "subordinates" and checked the research equipment in the facility. After glancing at some data, he stayed in his office and rested with his eyes closed.
