After sending off Faceless, Wen Yu turned around and looked at the other spirit pets.
Four pairs of eyes, large and small, were fixed on Wen Yu, filled with complex emotions—desire, confusion, and even a hint of resistance.
Not everyone can accept the transition from divine beast species to demonic clan—while the One-Eyed and Lolo were indifferent, with the One-Eyed not being an innate divine beast species and having been with Wen Yu the longest, and Lolo only caring about its own group, Xing and Victor, however, had some psychological resistance towards this matter.
This was just a small mental knot; Wen Yu had already discussed these issues with the spirit pets. As for dissolving the contract, that was unnecessary to mention—no one would agree to that. The remaining options were either to stay in the Demon Realm for eternal life or to change races.
The choice was, of course, self-evident.
After a moment of silence, Wen Yu finally murmured.
“It’s almost time, don’t worry, we will soon return to Earth.”
“Really… but…”
Victor still had hesitation on his face. Wen Yu understood that he wanted to ask what identity they would return to Earth as, but Wen Yu had no definite answer to offer.
Until lunch was over, Wen Yu sent the several spirit pets back to the soul realm space and then closed his eyes.
In the dark space, a deep voice echoed.
“Dreams come true…”
Wen Yu didn’t understand Bai’s difficulties—he hadn’t thought about how the existence of spirit pets would disturb Wen Yu. However, Bai had already explained to Wen Yu clearly how to get rid of the sovereign. What Wen Yu chose was not Bai’s concern.
In fact, Bai’s troubles were far more than Wen Yu’s. For a month, Wen Yu had not seen Bai at all and didn’t know what he was up to. However, due to Wen Yu's arrival, the entire Desolate Borderlands had undergone tremendous changes.
The most obvious point was that with a super powerhouse emerging, First City in the Desolate Borderlands quickly wiped out all the eleventh level strongmen, greatly expanding their influence. Quietly, First City took over the entire territory of the Desolate Borderlands. Leogua and Ye Nan were grinning from ear to ear, and their attitude toward Wen Yu improved significantly—they practically treated Wen Yu as their ancestor.
Once all the eleventh level strongmen were slaughtered, Wen Yu had nothing else to do, spending his days in his room, either enhancing himself and the spirit pets with dreams come true or researching the soul creation technique. Information about Earth was still being relayed to Wen Yu through Faceless and Mountain Puppet, but overall it remained peaceful—Wen Yu's departure seemingly didn't stir a ripple—aside from the sequence ranking, which was no longer related to Wen Yu.
Faceless’s mission, however, was progressing rather poorly. The treasure land guardians seemed to be holed up in the treasure land like hermits. Faceless wasn’t a professional and couldn’t enter the treasure land, while the number of treasure land guardians venturing outside was exceedingly small. Even when they did, they were extraordinarily powerful. Seeing the return journey looking indefinitely distant, Wen Yu even had the irrational thought of returning to slaughter a rampage.
So, time flew by, and it was as if Wen Yu had completely vanished from the world. Except for Ye Nan occasionally checking on him, even Leogua, the city lord of First City in the Desolate Borderlands, seemed to forget Wen Yu's existence.
This situation continued for three years until Wen Yu awaited Bai's return.
From Bai's face, Wen Yu could see his fatigue and deeply concealed excitement. As soon as Bai pushed open the door to Wen Yu's residence, he immediately shouted in an excited voice, “Wen Yu! I need your help. You haven't forgotten, right?”
Bai, this old fox, getting his voice so excited it cracked was proof of the surprise he had encountered. However, this didn’t concern Wen Yu much. Wen Yu simply nodded, indicating that he would repay the favor he had promised!
