The sharpness of the blade light from the Edge of the Moon could effectively threaten even a level four mutated creature. The black cat, a grade two evolver, was not known for its defensive capabilities and couldn’t possibly withstand it. Even though it managed to dodge at a critical moment thanks to a reminder from the spirit woman, the blade light still grazed its body, leaving behind a terrifying wound.
A large amount of blood poured down from the air, and after rolling uncontrollably a few times, the black cat was caught in the agile arms of the spirit woman before it hit the ground.
Some strange, low syllables escaped from the spirit woman's lips, a faint glow emerged in her embrace, enveloping the black cat.
“Energy transfer?!”
Ye Zhongming was taken aback for a moment, then disregarded the slowly forming horde behind him. With all his strength, he charged forward and delivered a downward strike, not giving the spirit woman or the black cat any chance to recover.
Typically, a mutated creature that evolved to level nine would have at least three innate skills. New skills would emerge during the first, fifth, and ninth evolutions, resulting in a maximum of nine skills overall. However, this was an extreme case; Ye Zhongming had never heard of any level nine evolved creature possessing nine innate skills. In his memory, only the lord of the Heavenly Fire Inferno before his rebirth, the Sunbird, had seven innate skills, which was already the most for an evolved creature.
Humans had an advantage in this regard. As long as conditions allowed, they could learn countless skills, provided they had the vast mental power to support the release of those skills.
Normally, when an evolved creature reached level nine, it would have about four or five innate skills.
The spirit woman got her name because she represented the pinnacle of mental power among mutated beings, and her abilities were typically related to this force.
Among mental abilities, energy transfer was a particularly extraordinary skill, usually possessed only by level nine evolvers.
However, it was unexpected that this spirit woman had awakened this skill at level two! Including the mental seed, she had awakened an innate skill with both of her evolutions!
The reason why the energy transfer skill was so extraordinary stemmed from its two words: mutual transfer! When injured, it could enhance healing effects through mutual transfer. After evolving, it could share evolution energy, and at a higher level, it could even share life itself.
Just like now, the mutated black cat had been slashed by Ye Zhongming at its waist, which, while not fatal, was enough to render it combat ineffective, a serious injury for an agile creature.
However, because the spirit woman possessed energy transfer, she would use her own energy to heal the injury. If Ye Zhongming didn’t act first, he would soon be faced with two troublesome opponents.
Ye Zhongming was strong, but he was ultimately just a one-star evolver!
Seeing Ye Zhongming react so quickly and strike so decisively, the spirit woman let out a surprised sound, holding the black cat and beginning to retreat. Though she wasn’t as swift as her pet, she was certainly no match for Ye Zhongming. In a few leaps, she had created a significant distance, leaving Ye Zhongming staring in disbelief.
At this point, it was no longer possible to pursue. Ye Zhongming jumped onto a shelf to grab a shield, quickly clearing the nearby zombies, and took the opportunity to dig out some magic crystals. Approaching a window, he elbowed the glass and jumped out directly.
Although danger came at all hours, sunlight always provided a sense of safety, and Ye Zhongming felt a little less anxious as he left the supermarket.
However, he was injured and needed to return to bandage his wounds, or he would be like a cake emitting an enticing aroma, attracting countless zombies to come hunt him.
The environment around the supermarket had already been etched into his mind, and Ye Zhongming began retreating along the planned route, killing every zombie that dared to block his path.
