Chapter 1: Two-in-One

The Level 5 Golden Carnivorous Plant has now become one of Ye Zhongming's sources of confidence.

Despite its many disadvantages, such as relatively slow speed, single attack method, and obvious weaknesses, this five-star life form also has numerous advantages.

Putting aside its inherent abilities, the fact that Bloodwood is in Ye Zhongming's hands and that the carnivorous plant seeds are nearly unlimited allows this big guy to serve as a routine deterrent.

Furthermore, this is not a limited-time summoned creature; it is a life form that will always exist as long as it does not die. It has been cultivated by Ye Zhongming through various means, effectively making them his plant battle pets, which are fundamentally different from those created through the condensed summoning technique.

In other words, as long as Ye Zhongming and these carnivorous plants are given some time, they have unlimited potential.

Of course, this is merely a theoretical statement; Ye Zhongming understands that cultivating these carnivorous plants is extremely difficult.

Even on corrupt soil, the carnivorous plants do not move quickly, and the creation of corrupt soil itself requires energy, making it impossible to expand indefinitely. This hinders these life forms from following Ye Zhongming into battle or even hunting on their own.

This limitation of needing to be fed in order to grow is quite significant.

Without the abilities of consuming soil and stem absorption, the carnivorous plants might even struggle to survive.

However, when utilizing these life forms, it is possible to mitigate their disadvantages to the greatest extent. Just like now, the entrance here is concealed beneath a ruin, which gives the carnivorous plants the opportunity to surround the entrance from above, drawing closer and creating a tighter encirclement.

Naturally, Ye Zhongming does not intend to use these close-quarters attacking carnivorous plants to determine the outcome of the battle. Besides using them to exert psychological pressure, his purpose is also to obscure the approach of the Yama Tree.

Without knowing what kind of life form would disgust the Yama Tree at the base, Ye Zhongming prudently chooses to break through from the front, inching closer to compress the enemy's space before ultimately annihilating them.

If he were to choose a surprise attack, Ye Zhongming truly fears a mishap; after all, the number of warriors he commands is too few, and the margin for error is very low.

When these people catch sight of the Yama Tree, they obviously freeze for a moment. The presence of a woman's face on the tree trunk is too bizarre for their brains to process, leaving just enough time for the Yama Tree's attack to begin.

First, an unknown number of sharp roots extend from underground, directly piercing the bodies of at least a few hundred evolvers, much like the shadowy jungle thorns of the earth yellow pill.

For the Level 8 Yama Tree, these average level three evolvers can't withstand even the most basic attack. Only some level four and five evolvers sense something's off and quickly evade, though a few still end up injured.

At this point, the Yama Tree no longer hides, shaking its trunk to push away the carnivorous plants ahead. With its strength, if not for the carnivorous plants possessing branch skills, it could likely eliminate the carnivorous plants in its path.

Next, the branches atop the Yama Tree's crown begin to grow wildly, transforming in an instant into tree whips as thick as the arms of a hundred strong men, lashing out at the crowd surrounding it.

These people aren’t even qualified to make it exert its abilities, yet even still, they cannot resist.

Many assumed that the third team would be annihilated by this creature.

Like a tiger entering a flock of sheep, the Yama Tree charges into the human ranks, and no one can pose any threat.

The following carnivorous plants slowly follow, moving at a modest pace, but with the Yama Tree paving the way, there are no obstacles, continuing to shrink the encirclement, and the corpses left behind by the Yama Tree serve as their nourishment. They frequently lower their heads, using their tooth-filled mouths to feed, rapidly healing the wounds they have just sustained through the energy absorbed.
