The creature that attacked from behind was an eighth-level monster with five heads, with a magic crystal sitting on the smallest central head.

Compared to the zombie horde and mutant flora and fauna, the number of monsters was not large, but each one possessed considerable strength.

Among the mutant legion besieging Cloud Summit, there were probably less than ten thousand monsters, but their average evolution level was around level five, which was slightly higher than that of the zombies and the mutant plants and animals.

Because of this, they still stood on equal footing with the zombies and the mutant creatures.

Now, this eighth-level monster suddenly made a move, catching the attention of many high-level beings among the mutant life forms. They all wanted to see how formidable this bird-like monster, which had a pair of heavy wings that seemingly couldn't fly and a somewhat bloated body, truly was.

Xia Bai’s mask was purple equipment, capable of threatening even ninth-level life forms. The monster also clearly sensed the danger; one of its enormous heads suddenly opened its mouth, and a stone wrapped in flames was spit out.

Many humans were taken aback, for although this monster had a large head and a long mouth, the stone engulfed in flames that it spat out was even larger. How could it possibly expel such a massive object?

Moreover, the flames were not ordinary; they burned with a fluorescent green color!

When the Extreme Cold Condensation Pressure collided with the flaming meteorite, a deafening explosion erupted, and a massive shockwave surged outward, mixing in with tiny shards of rock.

Like petals scattered by a heavenly maiden, these shards shot in all directions, claiming many lives on the walls and the ground. Rows upon rows of humans and mutant life forms fell.

Furthermore, those who were hit immediately ignited in the same fluorescent green flames, turning to ashes within seconds.

Some of the shards also struck the earth yellow pill and the monster; the former had battle gear to defend against it. Although it sustained some damage, it wasn’t serious, merely being knocked off balance by the force of the shockwave. Xia Bai and Ye Zhongming, who were supposed to be securely on its back, narrowly fell off.

The earth yellow pill couldn't allow its master to drop into the densely packed zombie horde below. At that moment, it had no time to think of anything else. It opened its huge mouth and bit down on the sadness ink pattern scythe, which was just within reach.

However, that spot was right on the blade of the sadness ink pattern scythe. The earth yellow pill’s canines were not exactly suited for gripping such a flat object, but in order to prevent its master from falling, Big Yellow let the blade edge press into its gaps between the teeth, hanging there.

Blood immediately flowed from Big Yellow's mouth, dripping onto Xia Bai below.

The five-headed monster was hit by the rocks, its feathers mottled with dull brown and green, looking dry and lacking in nutrients, yet it suffered no harm at all. The flames didn’t ignite it, and while some frost appeared on its feathers, it had no impact.

The explosive shockwave did cause the monster to retreat several meters, and during this process, its body dropped slightly.

Those with keen eyes could tell that although this monster had wings, it couldn’t sustain long flights. It could only rise to about half the height of the city wall, which should be its limit; the wings seemed more like tools for maintaining balance and gliding.

The earth yellow pill, ignoring the wound inflicted by the sadness ink pattern scythe, flapped its wings vigorously, trying to ascend above the city wall. At that moment, a rain of arrows from the mutant hedgehogs arrived. This was already the nth wave of arrows from those creatures, and at least one-third of the hedgehogs aimed for this spot!

Big Yellow and the two humans dangling beneath it were immediately covered by this arrow rain.

The earth yellow pill was armored, so regular hedgehog arrows didn’t have much effect on it, but there were still some exposed areas. The sharp spikes launched by high-level mutant hedgehogs packed quite a punch. Unable to dodge and stuck in this position, the earth yellow pill was immediately hit by many arrows, releasing pained grunt sounds.
