Note From Developer: I’m a big fan of Chinese web novels, but I often came across great stories with poor translations. That’s why I started this website! My goal is to make this the best web novel translation site out there. If you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to reach out on Discord or Instagram.

"Clink!" The whiskey glass hit the wooden table with a crisp sound. After downing the full glass of amber liquid, Demon Gold felt the alcohol coursing through his body. He shook his head slightly, feeling unsatisfied. After his body evolved, all kinds of resistances strengthened, including to alcohol. Now, no matter how much he drank, he wouldn't get drunk, not even experiencing that tipsy feeling.
Habitually, he touched his lower body. What had once left him had now returned—a pair of strong and powerful legs reappeared on his body. For these legs, Demon Gold sold his soul, but he felt it was worth it.
"How can you taste anything that way?" Qinghua, sitting next to Demon Gold, shook her head, sipping her drink slowly.
"You can't taste anything otherwise," Demon Gold moved his neck, making cracking sounds.
"Are your injuries all healed?" Qinghua nodded, "With the demonic mark, no injury is too serious."
When he heard the words "demonic mark," something flickered in Demon Gold's eyes.
A soft sound came from the wooden door of the bar, and a person walked in. Seeing Demon Gold and Qinghua sitting together at the bar, he came over without a word, glanced at the wine rack, and then, with a sudden movement of his left arm, a red fleshy strip shot out, grabbed a bottle of red wine, and pulled it to his side.
Without a word, he sat down at a nearby table. The long fleshy strip, as thick as a fist, covered the bottle's mouth, and with a sharp pull, the cork was removed, and he tilted his head back, downing the entire bottle into his stomach.
Qinghua and Demon Gold exchanged a look of mutual disdain.
The man finished drinking a bottle of wine and, setting down the empty bottle, caught the two's expressions and let out a dissatisfied snort.
"Monsters."
People of the apocalypse are all rebellious, especially those like Qinghua and Demon Gold, who emerged from a place like the zero commerce association as sacred seats. With their strength restored, how could they tolerate such obvious displeasure from others? Qinghua deliberately used a volume that the other man could definitely hear to say a sentence.
"Don't push me to kill you," the man with the fleshy strip for an arm said coldly, his body exuding a clear killing intent.
"Just you?!" Demon Gold abruptly stood up, walking over to the man, looking down at him.
The one-armed freak chuckled, "Don't think you're all that just because you have legs again and became a six-star evolver. If you're that great, you wouldn't have been beaten and fled by one of Ye Zhongming's subordinates."
"Shit, what did you say!" Demon Gold's face flushed with anger, and he prepared to punish the man, but Qinghua pulled him back.
The man laughed dismissively, "We can all be monsters, not just monsters, but also mentally unstable, so don't use such terms, or you'll be insulting yourselves too. I'm a monster, so what? I'm a dedicated monster who never falsely hides my goals. I have a grudge against Ye Zhongming for losing an arm, but my ultimate goal is to survive and live strong. Unlike you, who claim to seek greater power yet always hang hatred on your lips."
"Ye Zhongming and Cloud Summit didn't kill your parents, so don't always act so sanctimonious. The moment the demonic mark entered your bodies, you were no longer tied to those words."
With that, the man ignored Demon Gold's vicious gaze and turned to leave, "Damn funny, calling me a monster."
Demon Gold watched him leave with a grim expression, angrily turning to Qinghua, "Why didn't you let me kill him?"
Qinghua sighed, "He's one of the first to follow the Demon Witch, closer to them than we are. Conflicting with him would definitely affect our standing with the Demon Witch, and we still need others for the upgrade of our demonic marks."
Demon Gold calmed down upon hearing this.
"Besides, if we really fought, the two of us might not be his match. His demonic mark has been upgraded twice, granting him immense power, and I've heard he once obtained a special card. Normally, gaining such power comes with great suffering, but the Demon Witch solved it, turning it into a formidable ability."
