CHAPTER 2-in-1.
To be honest, at this moment, Red Hair had lost her ability to evade. Her severely injured body made her hope that she could kill the monster with her attack before it was too late.
The thorns extending from her hands crazily absorbed the energy from the powder ball, and Red Hair felt increasingly better. However, there was not enough time left.
The powder ball's enormous mouth was almost filled with sharp teeth on its upper and lower jaws. One could almost imagine that once bitten by such a mouth, even the hardest skull would be crushed in an instant.
The battle between the two lives was too fast, so fast that the Brain Child, who had gone to find help, had not yet returned.
Since gaining consciousness, it was the first time Red Hair felt helpless. Liquid trickled from her eyes, and some strange yet familiar images appeared in her mind. She couldn't figure out whether that was her and whether the liquid flowing out was blood or tears.
The stinking big mouth enveloped Red Hair's head, but the anticipated excruciating pain did not come. Instead, there was only the stinging and stickiness of sharp teeth scraping against her skin.
Then, Red Hair heard some voices.
"Red Hair, sister! Red Hair, sister!"
She felt the powder ball being pulled away from behind her, but unfortunately, she could not see the situation. She could only tell from the voices that many people had come here, one of whom had a familiar scent—belonging to Mo Ye.
The Brain Child brought Mo Ye and the others here and was startled by the sight before him.
It was just a brain worm. Although it had occupied the body of a child and its strength had broken through some limits to evolve, its original strength was still that of a weak worm.
Now, it was very famous in Cloud Summit and Ying City, and even in some surrounding areas. What it was had been recognized by more and more people. Without Red Hair's protection, not to mention others, even Ye Zhongming would possibly dismember it and share the parts with everyone to significantly increase their mental strength.
In a way, as long as Red Hair was alive, it could live; if Red Hair died, although it wouldn't necessarily die, it would undoubtedly have to flee.
Who would be stupid enough to give up on this comfortable life of "safe evolution without fearing death"?
So when it saw that Red Hair was still alive, the Brain Child was overjoyed.
However, when it saw the look in Red Hair's eyes, not only it but even Mo Ye and the others were horrified.
Two lines of blood tears streamed down Red Hair's increasingly beautiful face, which was so striking.
"It's okay, wait for me."
After saying those four words, Red Hair fell silent. Only then did everyone see the thorny tubes extending from her fingers were embedded in the eyes of the unknown monster.
"Eighth-level!"
A sharp-eyed Cloud Summit warrior was the first to notice the magic crystal covered in blood in the monster's eye, which was being held up by a few people.
Everyone was alarmed and then enlightened.
No wonder Red Hair was having such a tough time winning; it turned out she was fighting an eighth-level mutated life form. Previously, the Brain Child hadn't mentioned it, probably fearing everyone would be too scared to come here.
At the same time, everyone present felt a deep admiration for Red Hair's combat ability.
Facing an eighth-level complete life form was a tremendous feat for a seventh-level corpse king. This strength could no longer be described as fierce.
At least so far, no one among the Cloud Summit people dared to claim they could defeat an eighth-level life form, not even Ye Zhongming.
Everyone knew that Red Hair was absorbing the energy of this eighth-level life form because her horrific injuries were visibly healing at an alarming rate. The broken bones were cracking and moving within her, and slender thorny vines occasionally peeked out from her wounds, appearing very bizarre.
At that moment, the entire base suddenly rang with a piercing alarm. Red lights blinked continuously at the tops of every room and corridor.
