Chapter 874: Divine Hall's Ultimate Experiment 🧬

Published: February 10, 2025

In front of a window, a man wearing a mask stood with his arms crossed, watching the battle below. After a moment, he turned and left, followed by four people—three men and one woman.

"Director, are we really leaving like this? We are not without the strength to fight! The seeds in the beast garden have been activated, and with the 'powder ball,' even if that Red Hair zombie is at level seven, we won't lose!"

The oldest of the three men, somewhat unwilling, hurriedly spoke up behind the masked man.

"Yes, Director. We've invested a huge amount of funds here; it's the culmination of our years of hard work. Are we just going to give up like that? Rebuilding any of the three major laboratories is a complex and unimaginable undertaking. It's such a pity."

The only woman also tried to persuade the man in front to change his mind. She didn’t believe that today’s attack could break through the divine hall.

"There’s no chance left. Resistance will only increase our losses."

The man chuckled lightly, as if this weren’t his territory at all.

The four behind him exchanged glances, all failing to understand the Director's meaning.

"We’ve been infiltrated. The reason there hasn’t been much movement now is that Cloud Summit wants our things. Otherwise, this place would probably have been blown to bits by now."

"But..."

The woman wanted to continue speaking but was interrupted by the Director: "Have our researchers gotten on the vehicle?"

"They've boarded; everyone on the list has been taken away." The woman hesitated for a moment but still asked, "What about Dr. He’s laboratory..."

"It no longer belongs to us." The Director’s tone remained steady, as if Dr. He's betrayal as vice director was a trivial matter.

"I’ve felt for a long time that this guy changed since he came back last time. I didn’t expect him to actually dare to betray us. Director, let me take him out!"

Upon hearing his subordinate say this, the Director suddenly stopped, turning his intricately patterned mask toward his subordinate.

"He has already become a fusion beast, no longer human. He is a monster with a human face and a snake body, now at the eight-star level. Can you defeat him?"

The subordinate stammered a couple of times before saying, "I can’t, but the Director definitely can!"

Although they did not know if the Director had reached the eight-star evolver level, they were sure he could defeat the monster that Dr. He had become.

In their minds, the Director was an invincible existence.

"Hehe, if I make a move, Dr. He, who is currently hiding and watching, will also take action. Neither of us will be able to determine the winner any time soon. Once I am detained, you will still not be a match for Cloud Summit and these zombies."

A look of defiance appeared on their faces.

The Director continued walking and soon reached a huge metal door. This was a secret passage of the divine hall, the back door. Dozens of modified RVs and trucks were waiting here. If the people from Cloud Summit discovered it, they would be shocked by the divine hall's crisis management capabilities, having prepared for the evacuation in such a short time.

"The powder ball is still unstable. Once the energy level is adjusted to the eighth level, it won’t last long before it withers away."

The Director’s words made the four people who had been gloomy along the way suddenly realize why he said there was no need to fight to the death with Cloud Summit. It turned out that the strongest mutated life form of the divine hall was merely an experiment!

"Although there are still some things we cannot take away, the most crucial elements are already here. Therefore, there is no need to get entangled any longer. We are going to Base 2! Blow this place up in five minutes!"

"As for Dr. He, hehe, traitors are always annoying. He won’t have a good time in Cloud Summit. Moreover, there are no other eighth-level existences in Cloud Summit."

After finishing, the most mysterious Director of the divine hall gave the order, and the metal door slowly opened. The convoy drove into the interior passage and departed.
