Chapter 2: Dual Integration
“Sister Liu, you go ahead.”
Xia Lei sat back down, her gaze fixed on Liu Zhenghong.
The current 'Red Creator' was much tidier than when Ye Zhongming first met her. She wore a pristine white lab coat, her clean hair tied back in a ponytail. Though she was older, her foundation was excellent, and now that she had evolved to five-star level, she appeared even younger. Those who didn’t know her might think she was around thirty.
Before speaking, Liu Zhenghong habitually waved her hand. The ring on her ring finger was quite eye-catching, causing many to subconsciously glance at Le Da Yuan, the father of magic crystal weapons, who wore the same type of ring.
“The equipment that Zhong Ming brought back has been a great help, and he also brought back someone with related expertise who is quite capable.” Liu Zhenghong’s voice wasn't loud, but the core members of Cloud Summit listened quietly. They respected Liu Zhenghong but also feared her. The specialized biological laboratory often emitted various sounds, most of which were screams that could be heard day and night, sending chills down the spine of anyone who heard them.
It was hard not to be scared of someone who could create such sounds.
“So, we have recently overcome several bottlenecks.”
As she spoke, Liu Zhenghong pulled out a small bottle from her jacket pocket. Everyone leaned in to take a closer look; inside was a small white snake, only the length of a finger, wriggling around.
Liu Zhenghong opened the bottle, and the little deity immediately crawled out.
Raising its head and looking around, it suddenly spat on the table.
Everyone jumped, not because the little snake was powerful—most people present were five-star evolvers and could sense that it was still weak. But the effect of its saliva was astonishing; the area on the table that had been 'contaminated' was now covered in a patch of copper rust!
“What... is this?”
Little Tiger, always impulsive and brave, leaned in to take a look, even wanting to reach out and touch the rust. However, Liu Zhenghong kicked him on the backside, causing him to run away laughing.
“Do you remember the Yatsukahagi Tail Egg from the competition of death roulette?” As soon as Liu Zhenghong mentioned it, many who had participated in that battle recalled that the special prize in the first appearance of that roulette space was seven items to choose from, one of which was this thing.
But at that time, it seemed to have been obtained by the divine hall!
“It was sold on the black market, and I bought it.”
Liu Zhenghong didn’t elaborate, but the astute quickly inferred a lot from her words, such as... the fleeing Dr. He didn’t turn this item in. Within the divine hall, indeed.
“It originally hatched with eight heads, and I cut off seven of them.”
The group collectively shivered, thinking that this snake truly was unfortunate to encounter Liu Zhenghong.
“Normally, snakes spit venom, but I didn’t like that, so I changed it to molten iron, though it still retains some corrosive properties.”
Everyone exchanged glances, seeing the shock in each other's eyes.
Was it really so simple to change the inherent attributes of a mutated life form? How complex was that technology?
“Oh, I’ve been raising this little guy for a month now.”
A month?
Everyone was taken aback, then suddenly felt a wave of joy.
They were all aware of Liu Zhenghong’s previous research on genetic engineering; she had gained fame in the Cloud Summit defense war, and since then, due to issues with cell compatibility, there hadn’t been significant progress. Additionally, that place had always been mysterious, causing them to keep their distance.
But upon hearing this, everyone realized that there was hope for a breakthrough in genetic research.
“Sister Hong, are you saying the problems have been resolved?”
It was Little Tiger, who, filled with excitement, was the first to ask.
“Come in.”
Instead of answering Little Tiger's question, Liu Zhenghong called out to the door, and two humanoid beings, each over two meters tall, walked in.
