Chapter 79: Treasure Battle ⚔️

Published: February 5, 2025

Liang Chuyin took advantage of the whip's length and was the first to wrap the halo-covered treasure into her hands.

The people who suddenly emerged from the shadows of the ruins were none other than Mo Ye, Liang Chuyin, Teacher Park, and the others who had just arrived. After being rescued by Mo Ye, Liang Chuyin had already contacted Ye Zhongming and received orders to hide here.

As soon as they made their move, they gained absolute initiative.

Mo Ye was the second to obtain a treasure. Her one-star evolver physique, combined with her previous professional training, allowed her to smoothly secure a halo amidst the advantageous terrain.

After grabbing one halo, Mo Ye rolled her body down the slope of the ruins and used her toe to nudge another halo in front of Park Soo-young, who immediately embraced it.

From the moment Ye Zhongming rushed over to unfold the package and scattered the treasures into the air, to Mo Ye and the others appearing to seize the treasures, everything happened in the blink of an eye—so fast that no one had a moment to prepare. As the treasures began to fall, three of them had already been snatched away.

Wang Ding, the strongest among them and closest to the treasures, didn’t have time to stop them. Seeing that a small portion of the treasures had been taken, he roared in anger and suddenly accelerated. Kicking a stone with his toe, he leapt forward, managing to catch one halo in his hand.

The stone he kicked flew swiftly into Cheng Ze's abdomen, who had been trying to grab the treasure. The strong man immediately bent over in pain, blood spraying out as his body uncontrollably flew backward.

Cheng Ze, who was closest to him, quickly extended his hand. The tremendous force transferred to him caused him to stumble, but he managed to support Cheng Long.

"Big Dragon, how are you?!"

Cheng Ze knew from the weight of the impact that it was serious and hurriedly asked the injured Cheng Long, who was leaning against him.

"Damn, that was really strong."

Cheng Long wiped his mouth and replied, but his expression changed immediately as he spat out another mouthful of blood.

Mo Ye and Cheng Ze were cautious in their actions, being mature and experienced. However, Little Tiger was young and impulsive. He usually listened to Mo Ye but had some fear of Cheng Ze, while disregarding the others. Cheng Long was his close brother; they did everything together except sleep, sharing a strong bond. Seeing his brother injured sparked a killing intent within him.

Without a second thought, he raised his gun and aimed straight at Wang Ding's head.

Wang Ding was startled by the shot, breaking into a cold sweat. He never expected this young man, still with acne on his face, would be so ruthless, shooting at him without hesitation. At this distance, even as a two-star evolver, if hit, it would mean death.

Fortunately, Wang Ding was highly alert. The moment Little Tiger raised his gun, he dodged, tumbling to the side just in time to evade the shot. The bullet grazed his ear as it flew past, causing a sharp pain followed by a chill as a trickle of blood flowed down.

Seeing the shot miss, Little Tiger's face flushed red, thinking it was his poor shooting. Undeterred, he fired three more shots, forcing Wang Ding, who was already tumbling to the side, to roll down the ruins in a disheveled manner.

Though Little Tiger didn’t hit Wang Ding, he managed to push the two-star evolver down the ruins, inadvertently helping the team greatly. Otherwise, with Wang Ding charging forward, no one, including Mo Ye, would be able to stand against him.

However, even though Wang Ding was pushed back, the others approached nearby. Captain Ye aimed his gun at Mo Ye, who was trying to grab another treasure.

"Dodge, Xiao Ye!"

Before Cheng Ze could arrange for the seriously injured Cheng Long, he saw Mo Ye in danger and shouted. He then turned his wrist and fired at Captain Ye.

The best strategy now was to distract Captain Ye, hoping to make him miss his shot.

Although Mo Ye wasn’t as strong as Wang Ding, she was still a one-star evolver. If it came to hand-to-hand combat, even Ye Zhongming might not be her opponent. She had already surveyed her surroundings; upon seeing Captain Ye raise his gun, she abandoned her plan to grab the treasure and leaped to the other side.
