“Where is Shishi?”
Seeing Ye Zhongming come back alone, Mu Xinfey asked with a puzzled look.
“She said she left first,” Ye Zhongming replied as he sat down, calculating in his mind.
Mu Xinfey could probably guess what her best friend had discussed with Ye Zhongming. After thinking for a moment, she began to express her hopes.
The situation in Area S was really bad. Due to her father's serious injuries, the internal stability was the first issue. Many were itching to break away from Area S, escaping her father's control, both in the S2 sub-district and even in S1.
If it weren't for the concern of the joint situation among the major resistance areas that wouldn’t allow disruptions easily, and the uncertainty about the severity of her father's injuries, perhaps Area S would have already undergone a dramatic change.
Yet, even so, due to internal strife and external coveting, Area S was now the weakest among the four major resistance areas.
If this situation continued, Area S might be swallowed up by the other three resistance areas! At the very least, they would be forced to replace the commander-in-chief and enter a state of restructuring.
This was something Mu Xinfey never wanted to see.
Seeking help from external forces was the best path, and Mu Xinfey had done so. This time, at the Peak Pass Base, aside from Area C, Area S had invited the most external forces, but the cruel reality struck Mu Xinfey hard. The two forces that had accepted her invitation turned to the S2 sub-district after being contacted by people from Area S. Once others took control of Area S, they would absolutely not allow Mu Xinfey and her father, who still had considerable influence internally, to exist in this world.

“And lastly, can we establish a strategic alliance? Watching each other's backs?”

Ye Zhongming nodded slightly but did not speak immediately.
He had promised Bai Shishi to help Mu Xinfey, but that didn't mean he would help her unconditionally. His contributions had to align with the interests of Cloud Summit Villa.
After pondering for a moment, Ye Zhongming looked at Mu Xinfey and said, “Your conditions are undoubtedly all aimed at strengthening your existing combat power, and you even want to pull Cloud Summit Villa into your conflicts with other forces when necessary.”
Mu Xinfey was taken aback. She didn't expect Ye Zhongming to comment on her conditions instead of discussing interests, but she did not deny that what he said was true; this was indeed her plan. As long as her combat unit was powerful, no one could shake her and her father's position.
