Ruan Xiao was curious about what Ye Zhongming meant by his words, but seeing the Cloud Summit team starting to gather, she swallowed back her question.
After considering Cloud Summit's good reputation in today's trades, she put her worries aside. Since the boss of Cloud Summit said so, he surely wouldn’t deceive her. She decided to wait and see.
Ye Zhongming re-entered Linhai, sprinting in a specific direction. The people from Cloud Summit had been monitoring the movements of the zombie horde, so he was aware of their general location.
Without the Death Vine and mutated life forms, Ye Zhongming found the zombie horde after half an hour. They were not far from the battlefield near the Yama Tree, where the remnants of human bodies had already been devoured, leaving nothing but bones.
The zombie horde quickly noticed Ye Zhongming, as he showed no intention of hiding.
Among this horde, the lowest evolved zombies were at grade 3, and grade 4 zombies made up a significant portion. There were even thousands of grade 5 zombies, while some key subordinates of the sword armor had attained grade 6. As for the sword armor itself, it was a rare grade 7 mutated life!
With over a hundred thousand in number and an average evolution level just over grade 4, the sword armor horde had rarely encountered any unbeatable targets. The previous encounter with the Yama Tree had given them great pressure; they disliked such mutated plants and had been attracted by some liquid that made them drool, causing the horde to miss that battle.
The smell of fresh blood from the battlefield lingered in their surroundings, prompting them to eliminate these effortlessly obtained meals. They had also caught the scent of a large group of living humans and were eager to rush over for a feast.
Then, they caught sight of the lone human.
With some basic intelligence and a relatively stable hierarchy, the horde didn’t rush directly toward Ye Zhongming upon spotting him. Instead, they observed, especially the higher-level zombies, who were perplexed by the human's abnormal behavior.
So far, no human had dared to provoke them directly!
Ye Zhongming was well aware of this fact.
Not only would he himself prefer to avoid a head-on confrontation with such a horde of zombies, but even if Cloud Summit could ultimately win, the losses would be so great that the overall strength of the team could drop by half or more, with at least half of all warriors, including core members, having to sacrifice their lives.
Ye Zhongming wasn't foolish; he would never do such a thing.
Now, the number of Cloud Summit warriors in Linhai was even fewer, and if it wasn’t absolutely necessary, Ye Zhongming would never engage with this terrifying horde of undead.
However, he had obtained something.
He had thrown a vast amount of Yama Tree materials into the Gate of Sacrifice, acquiring another Grade A Offering Box.
Although it was still small, thanks to the previous instance with Nature Essence, Ye Zhongming was filled with anticipation.
Now, Ye Zhongming stood before the hundred thousand zombies with the item he had obtained.
Even though these zombies were advanced, they were still zombies, driven by an uncontrollable and extreme craving for human flesh. Moreover, Ye Zhongming's evolution level emitted a scent that was fatal to zombies.
Thus, they charged toward him.
Zombies were not corpses; after reaching a high evolution level, they became agile and swift, moving as fast as lightning.
After watching them for a few seconds, Ye Zhongming suddenly threw something toward them and then turned to run.
The object was somewhat eye-catching in the night, emitting a soft green glow. Many zombies were drawn to it, directing their attention to this small object that quickly flew over the horde.
The sword armor released a piercing howl, its body suddenly leaping out of the horde, using its hard, bony wings to strike at the object.
It sensed a life-threatening danger emanating from above!
Boom!
A very faint sound emerged, as if a bubble had been popped by a mischievous child, and the object exploded.
