If Ye Zhongming were still on the branch mountain from earlier, he would undoubtedly feel the same shocking sensation as the hatching of insect eggs in a horror movie.
The branch mountain seemed to collapse as if the first snow was melting under the sun, with thick branches retracting violently into the ground. From the top down, the branch mountain began to disintegrate.
A large amount of slime flowed out from within, almost instantly covering the ground.
Such a scene was indeed shocking.
However, after the initial shock, Ye Zhongming felt a tingling sensation on his scalp.
Not for any other reason, but among the 'collapsing' branch mountains, countless... new products of the Yama Tree appeared!
These bizarre mutated beings, lying somewhere between humans and corpses.
There were all sorts, mostly humans, along with various mutated animals and monsters. In Ye Zhongming's vicinity, there were at least several hundred, with each branch mountain housing anywhere from one to dozens of these beings, depending on the space and the size of the life forms inside!
Although Ye Zhongming couldn't sense their levels, he could tell from the faint green color on their bodies and their dark green eyes that these newly emerged mutated beings were far stronger than the four he had killed before!
What kind of monster was the Yama Tree? How could it control, even create so many life forms?
But now, there wasn't much time for Ye Zhongming to think, and he had no retreat; his only option was to complete his plan!
Locking onto a direction, Ye Zhongming charged forward with Nogaei.
This seemed to act as a signal; as Ye Zhongming moved, these strange life forms also sprang into action, rushing toward him from all directions.
Changes related to plant life appeared on them, and the attacks began.
Strictly speaking, there weren't many variations in these attacks; they were mostly warrior-class and long-range spraying types, with wooden needles and some liquids.
However, like the saying goes, many ants can kill an elephant. Even if Ye Zhongming didn't have the superb defense of the Rong Clan Holy Armor, he wouldn’t last long under such dense attacks.
Fortunately, Ye Zhongming was relatively fast, and with the cover of his agile body and the not-yet-fully-collapsed branch mountain, he managed to avoid being surrounded.
In the distance, there was a massive gap in the edge wall of the enormous space, and that was Ye Zhongming's target.
However, before the gap, teams of mutated beings were gathering, clearly intending to stop Ye Zhongming from reaching there.
"Right there."
Perhaps due to the violent jostling, Nogaei, who had lost consciousness earlier, woke up at some point and weakly pointed towards the distant opening.
He had just been dragged in here, and before losing consciousness, he remembered coming out from there.
This further strengthened Ye Zhongming's determination to charge forward.
The Staff of Nature was raised in front of him, and the blue blood lotus charged madly at the opponents, its sharp ice petals slicing through the bodies of these half-corpses, reaping their lives.
All the magic crystal grenades were thrown out, forming a deathly ocean of energy in front, and the gathered half-corpses were torn into pieces, instantly clearing out a vacuum zone.
Only a primary ice gem was placed on the Staff of Nature, and logically, it shouldn’t cause such significant damage to life forms that were mostly above level four. However, perhaps due to Ye Zhongming having consumed Nature Essence, the Staff of Nature clearly increased in power, which was a pleasant surprise.
Ye Zhongming quickly rushed to within ten meters of the opening.
Due to the previous delay, the other half-corpses were already closing in. Ye Zhongming had to turn around and use the Staff of Nature again, while the Crystal Energy Magic Bullet Gun opened fire, shooting down the approaching enemies as he slowly retreated.
At this point, he couldn't spare any thought for conserving magic crystals or nature gems; he just wanted to repel the enemies as much as possible.
