Yesterday, I mistakenly wrote the level of the Needle Bird King as level seven; it should be level six. I have made the correction and I apologize to everyone.
Ye Zhongming glanced at his subordinates, who were grouped with the seventh-level sea beast, before shifting his gaze to the formation of sea beasts, silently counting something in his mind.
Level seven is very powerful. In all of Cloud Summit, apart from himself and Xia Bai, no one should have complete confidence in defeating a seventh-level sea beast in a one-on-one fight.
However, this is not absolute, as the roulette challenge allows for some degree of participation from outsiders.
Once the challengers begin, they enter a completely enclosed battlefield space, and at other times, various forms of communication are not prohibited.
This gave Ye Zhongming some maneuvering space; he only needed to ensure that his core members, distributed in different areas, avoided fighting together, allowing them to watch over each other.
He was just thinking about other matters; he always felt that the beads with a black pentagram that appeared after the roulette challenge were strange. The real danger, or rather, the real value, came from these beads.
In Ye Zhongming's contemplation, the fourth-level roulette challenge officially began.
All four areas launched into battle almost simultaneously.
Unlike the previous roulette challenges, there were numerous evolvers participating this time, but the roulette still only offered fifty spins. The competition was much more intense than before.
In the first three roulette challenges, everyone was reluctant to enter early, hoping others would 'consume' the majority of the blank spaces on the roulette.
But now it was different; due to the dual pressure of the number and strength of sea beasts, along with the uncertainty of the sub-divisional competition, many humans chose to enter early.
After all, spinning the roulette was a gamble; even if there were success rate issues, the number of attempts was limited. While entering later might have a higher success rate, the opponents faced would also be stronger. It was better to take a gamble early; if luck favored them, the result would be the same regardless of the timing.
Many people had this mindset, so once the challenge began, it became extremely fierce right away.
Little Tiger was the first to encounter trouble.
The first battle in his area lasted nearly an hour without conclusion, with the number of human evolvers and sea beasts exceeding a hundred. The glimmering magic crystals and equipment on the corpses on the ground were enough to keep both sides replenishing their forces.
Little Tiger was drawn into this first challenge because of those magic crystals.
Of course, although Little Tiger was straightforward, he wasn't foolish. He waited until the last moment to strike. When he saw a sixth-level sea beast that had been the 'champion' for five rounds and had few challengers left, he entered the fray; as long as he won, it would be practically enough.
Due to the sudden situation, Ye Zhongming didn't have time to equip Little Tiger extensively, but he did give him the Crystal Energy Magic Bullet Gun.
This was a significant risk.
Why did human survivors know the dangers and the possibility of encountering sixth or seventh-level mutated life forms but still flock to the challenges?
Previously, it was because of the rewards on the roulette; after all, compared to ordinary roulettes outside, the rewards here were at least one or two levels higher in quality and cost-effectiveness.
In the China region, another reason was that once they obtained exclusive items from mutated life forms, they could exchange them for excellent things at the Cloud Summit Villa—things that are usually hard to come by.
Now, as the number of challengers suddenly increased, everyone realized that as long as they won, not only could they earn a chance to spin the roulette for luck, but they could also 'loot the corpses!'
After a challenge, one side inevitably dies. If a sea beast dies, they can obtain its magic crystals and materials; if a human dies, it's even better, as they can take everything the deceased had. In a situation where spatial equipment is extremely scarce, survivors’ belongings are all on them.
