Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 530: Mysterious Roulette on the Mysterious Island 🏝️

Published: February 8, 2025

Only one chapter today, I’ll make up for it tomorrow.

In the distant deep sea, a massive island was shrouded in thick fog. At the very center of the island stood a gigantic wheel, the surface of which was completely empty, a pitch-black void.

At that moment, a powerful swirling sea wind blew through, dispersing some of the mist around the wheel. Bright moonlight fell from the sky, illuminating this strange device.

A surprising event unfolded; the previously dark surface of the wheel began to change, revealing a vibrant blue color.

It was the color of the ocean.

Soon after, a magnificent golden crown floated into view in the lifelike depiction of the sea, rising above the turbulent waves. Countless fearsome sea beasts emerged from the surface, their bodies breaking through like icebergs. They gazed hungrily at the crown that emanated an alluring aura, their eyes overflowing with uncontrollable greed.

The images on the wheel seemed to illuminate the surroundings, casting shadows that resembled mountains in the mist. It was unclear what they were, but occasionally a faint purple or even orange light would flicker beneath the moonlight.

Suddenly, the crown on the wheel trembled, rays of light began to emanate from it, and these lights magically pierced through the surface of the wheel, shooting down to the ground below.

Upon seeing these golden lights, the foremost shadow in the fog surged forward, attempting to seize the light. However, other shadows appeared as well, roaring with voices filled with the threat of death.

Yet, the shadows were not afraid of each other. After a few exchanges of roars, they clashed violently.

If any humans were present, they would surely tremble in fear, for each of these beasts that collided was a seventh-level creature!

The intense clash of innate abilities and physical might quickly stained the area in front of the wheel with blood. Every powerful sea beast fought fiercely, as if their bodies were not their own, each not willing to give an inch.

Finally, one slightly weaker beast fell, killed on the spot. Its eyes dimmed rapidly, and as it died, the magic crystal on its forehead dimmed as well, as if its energy had been completely drained. A purple line flowed from its body towards the wheel, and upon contact, it was truly absorbed.

The mysterious wheel thus became even more imposing.

With the death of this seventh-level sea beast, the once orderly sea surface on one side of the island suddenly became chaotic. Some turned to flee into the deep sea, others began to fight amongst themselves, while some joined the ranks of other sea beasts nearby.

Regardless of the choice, the sea surface quickly calmed down again.

Near the wheel, several other sea beasts were defeated as well, but they did not die; instead, their enormous bodies collapsed to the ground, seemingly uncertain of what to do.

After a moment, these injured sea beasts left, each returning to their own groups. After preying on a few of their kind, they issued commands, and these groups of sea beasts set off in a specific direction.

That direction was towards Cloud Port!

The victorious sea beast roared joyously, eagerly charging towards the golden light cast by the crown, its face filled with a sense of enjoyment.

The deep wounds that exposed its bones and its broken limbs began to heal and regrow under the golden light’s radiance. In just a few seconds, it had completely recovered, and as time passed, the aura of this sea beast rose rapidly, its strength increasing at a terrifying speed.

Unfortunately, the whirlwind blew through again, thickening the mist, and the moon in the sky was obscured by clouds, no longer casting light on the wheel. The magnificent and mystical sea water and golden crown vanished, along with the golden rays.

The sea beast bathed in golden light let out an unwilling cry, wanting to charge at the wheel to vent its frustration. However, the shadows that had not appeared earlier in the fog stepped forward, issuing a low warning, making the sea beast pant heavily, shaking its body, before turning back to its subordinates.
