Chapter 525: Terrifying Sea Monsters 🐙

Published: February 8, 2025

Xiao Peng's swimming skills were quite decent, but in this world, who would dare to go into the sea? That would definitely be seeking death; the mutated life forms in the ocean were even more numerous than those on land, and going in would surely result in an attack.

However, an unknown calling surged within his heart, tempting Xiao Peng to hurry over. His battle pet, Black Revenge, felt the same, and even more intensely; its body squirmed restlessly despite Xiao Peng’s control.

That calling came from the depths of the ocean. How far away it was, Xiao Peng wasn’t sure, but he truly didn’t dare to just jump into the sea.

He was only a three-star evolver, and his battle pet was not an incredibly powerful being. Entering the ocean at this level was akin to delivering himself to death.

Yet this calling…

Xiao Peng felt deep down that this might be an opportunity for him to grow stronger.

He glanced at the terrifying dark sea and then turned back to look at Cloud Port illuminated by firelight. Gritting his teeth, he ran back with Black Revenge.

He remembered Ye Zhongming; that person seemed to have a decent character and was strong enough. If he could find him for help, even if he didn’t get the lion's share of the benefits, he shouldn't be treated unfairly.

Having made up his mind, Xiao Peng chose to take a risk and return to the Inner City with his reluctant battle beast, rather than venturing alone into the human's territory—the sea.

………………………………………………………………………………

The sea beasts finally launched their attack after several large commander-level monsters arrived.

The people in the Inner City finally understood why these sea beast monsters had been waiting earlier.

They were waiting not just for these 'commanders,' but also for some sea beasts with special abilities; they were actually preparing for the assault.

The signal for the battle to commence came from within the Inner City itself!

At least dozens of places on the ground suddenly erupted with various sea beasts, including the massive sea snakes, armored sea snails, and excavator-like mutated manatees… These sea beasts simultaneously surged out of the Inner City, launching fierce attacks on the humans who beheld them.

Within the caves they created, sea beasts appeared in rapid succession!

The first shot of the assault was fired, and the onslaught of sea beasts came like a torrential storm, leaving every defender feeling suffocated.

The dwarf mermaids were among the fastest sea beasts on land. Despite their names, they had nothing to do with the beautiful legends; standing at about one meter tall, they bore some resemblance to humans, only lacking feet, having split tail fins instead. Their massive fish heads featured a mouth full of sharp teeth, and they wielded bone forks evolved from their own bodies, charging directly toward the tall city walls.

There were countless dwarf mermaids; viewed from the city wall, they resembled a dense swarm of ants.

Following closely behind were the seahorses, which were even smaller, only the size of a basketball. However, they had developed sharp spikes all over their bodies; with their wrinkled, intestine-like tails, they could leap several meters into the air. Their oddly shaped small heads would blow bubbles, emitting a foul stench. The locals referred to them as "spit bugs." Although small, they were a significant headache for humans.

The number of seahorses was also quite large, rivaling that of the dwarf mermaids.

Between these two sea beast races, some massive sea beasts several meters tall lumbered along. These were known as "city-crashing beasts." They had blue bodies, no limbs, and their cylindrical bodies were topped with a slightly lighter-colored flesh ball, which they used to move slowly.

What made the survivors wary was their enormous heads, like battering rams! When they began to charge at a certain speed, their log-like heads would unleash tremendous force, posing a huge threat to the Inner City's gates and walls.
