“Drill?!”
Although the survivors couldn't move, their eyes were the only exception. Due to their viewpoint, they couldn't see what was above their heads, but they could still make out some details at a distance.
They noticed that although the light screens and countdown timers had disappeared from the platform space, dark, shiny drill-like objects began to appear. These drills were quite large, roughly the thickness of an adult's body.
Many soldiers from the Radiant World Army realized that the countdown had ended and they were still alive, instinctively feeling excitement from their survival. Many faces that had been distorted by fear calmed down as they awaited what seemed like a hopeful judgment.
But Ye Zhongming closed his eyes.
He knew what would happen next. He remembered clearly that in his previous life, a survivor who had experienced the competition of death roulette spoke with a slight tremble at this moment.
That person had survived for nearly ten years in the apocalypse!
Buzz!
A soft humming sound arose. The people on the platform strained to catch a glimpse of what was happening. They saw the drills beginning to move and spin rapidly!
Unable to speak, move, or make a sound, the eerie atmosphere made the drills' movements exceptionally clear.
Many were thinking, what is happening?
Soon, some astute individuals noticed that the drills had stopped, and they were hovering above each soldier of the Radiant World Army.
No... it can't be?!
Many felt an ominous premonition rising within them, especially among the soldiers of the Radiant World Army. They desperately wanted to move, but everything was futile in the face of the rules.
If they could act now, they would definitely run, attack, and get these things away from themselves.
Unfortunately, they could do nothing.
The drills spun rapidly and slowly descended, each millimeter lost height brought an unbearable despair to the soldiers of the Radiant World Army.
One of the tallest soldiers was pierced by a drill, and blood instantly gushed down his face like a waterfall, soaking his body soon after.
The drill descended inexorably, nothing could stop it; the man's head was crushed, followed by his body.
The entire platform remained silent, the only sounds were the piercing of flesh by the drill and the blood and bits of flesh flung everywhere by the high-speed rotation.
All the warriors of Cloud Summit closed their eyes. The people they had just fought fiercely against were now turning into torn flesh and dripping red liquid, covering them.
Some stood there, turned into pulp, while others became drenched in blood.
Except for Ye Zhongming, who had closed his eyes early, everyone in Cloud Summit was overtaken by a strong feeling of nausea.
They had seen death before; it had been nearly a year of apocalypse. The number of lives they had taken would suffice to label them as executioners in peacetime, yet they were still stunned by this slow and cruel 'slaughter,' feeling a first-time hatred toward this roulette space they had always dominated.
Even though the Radiant World Army had just been their enemies!
This feeling of being manipulated at someone else's whim was vividly present in everyone's hearts.
Humanity had dominated this world for thousands of years and had grown accustomed to the feeling of being the master; when they realized that everything was starting to slip out of their control, that sense of loss had lingered in their minds until this moment, reaching its peak.
The dark, blood-smeared drills vanished, and the entire third-level space became a swamp of flesh and blood.
Once that binding force disappeared, most of the Cloud Summit warriors vomited, and even after several heaves, the tendency only grew stronger.
Fortunately, the staircase to the fourth level appeared just in time, and the surviving people rushed over as fast as they could, escaping this hell on earth.
Ye Zhongming did not run but walked at the back. His stomach felt a little uncomfortable; after all, even in the apocalypse, such a scene was not common. The last time he encountered something similar was before his reincarnation, when he eradicated a monster's den, a place somewhat similar to this one.
