Little Five looked at the small team in front of him, and his subordinates were cautiously on guard.
They had been sent here by Sister Shasha for many days. Originally, the plan was to rescue people after Cloud Summit Villa was breached, but who would have thought they would witness such a horrifying scene.
Due to the vast difference in strength between the two opposing sides, Little Five led a group of dozens, and they did not dare to enter the area of Cloud Summit Villa. They could only linger outside, afraid of being discovered and dragged into the chaos.
Faced with those colossal beings, even he, a three-star evolver, knew that it would be suicide for him or even his boss, Sister Shasha, to engage.
He only hoped to rescue some people who escaped after the villa was breached, and that would be considered completing the mission.
It wasn't until he received a command from Sister Shasha to stay put and wait for her to rendezvous that he realized the person he once admired and envied had returned, and the big sister, who was supposed to trust fate, was coming personally.
With mixed emotions, Little Five and his team waited and chose a spot for a temporary camp, preparing to welcome Sister Shasha’s arrival.
Who would have thought that when he went out to meet Sister Shasha, a massive Roulette Mountain appeared in the sky above Cloud Summit, and all the people who were previously in confrontation had vanished.
Little Five was puzzled by what was happening. He cautiously entered the range of Cloud Summit to investigate, but found nothing; everyone seemed to have disappeared in an instant.
He looked up at the giant peak in the sky and knew the disappearance of the people must be related to it, remaining stunned for a long while.
Just as Little Five was about to descend the mountain, he encountered a ragtag team of only seven or eight people.
Their clothing and appearance felt out of place in Ying City, and Little Five noticed marks typical of coastal areas.
In the apocalypse, it was fundamental for two unfamiliar teams to be on guard when they met; there was over a twenty percent chance that conflicts could break out immediately.
"Who are you?"
Little Five and his team looked at the people opposite them, noticing that while their evolver levels were slightly lower, they had the advantage in numbers and were not too afraid.
The team on the opposite side exchanged glances and were just about to state their intentions when they realized another, larger team appeared from behind them.
"Big sister!"
Little Five's face lit up with joy upon seeing the newcomers; it was Sister Shasha leading her team.
In this situation, both sides were even less likely to fight. After the smaller team explained their purpose, disbelief appeared on Sister Shasha's face.
"We have no reason to lie," the leader said with a wry smile, understanding that someone like Sister Shasha, the leader of the team, would show such an expression. Anyone who heard this news for the first time would find it a bit absurd, yet it was the truth.
"If what you say is true, then you have indeed come to the right place," Sister Shasha said, looking up at the Roulette Mountain overhead. "If nothing goes wrong, the person you are looking for is up there."
Everyone looked up at the peak, which was nothing unusual until suddenly, with a deafening explosion, a hole blasted open at the originally smooth base of Roulette Mountain. A massive, injured creature crashed out, landing hard on the ground not far from them, splattering a significant amount of viscous blood everywhere, some even hitting them.
This visibly gravely wounded monster, despite its condition, surprisingly managed to lift its body. It merely glanced at the group, then plunged back into the ground with a rumbling sound, leaving everyone staring at each other in shock.
Let's rewind time a bit.
The battle on the Roulette was reaching its peak. An hour had passed, and with points becoming increasingly scarce, everyone knew it was a desperate moment to survive.
