Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 43: Roaring Heavy Truck 🚛

Qian Da put down the telescope, a thoughtful expression flashing in his eyes.

He was the nasal-voiced man, a killer who took money to do others' bidding, a ruthless thug without principles.

In the armed department, he ran quickly, escaping to the rooftop of the experimental building before the zombies could surround him. Unlike others, Qian Da wasn't running aimlessly; he had a purpose.

He carried a telescope, and when he reached the laboratory's rooftop, he began searching with it.

Until he found his target—Ye Zhongming.

His dark past had given Qian Da immense patience and an accurate grasp of the critical aspects of situations. He was certain that Ye Zhongming held a secret, a secret to becoming stronger. Therefore, he could have left the campus long ago, yet he remained.

Earlier, he had seen Ye Zhongming and Mo Ye stealthily re-enter the armed department; now, he saw Ye Zhongming leaving the campus with three women in the same manner.

Fortunately, through the telescope, Qian Da spotted Ye Zhongming arriving at a villa through the gaps between several buildings.

Qian Da felt he had found the key to the problem. Why had Ye Zhongming returned there? Could it be the starting point of his strength?

After waiting for a while, Qian Da made a decision; he had to go take a look.

There was no doubt that Qian Da had placed the right bet. After observing and hiding around the villa for more than an hour, he cautiously entered the villa. When he stepped into the kitchen, what he saw before him made him realize that he had discovered the greatest secret of the apocalypse.

A hint of madness surged onto his face and into his heart.

………………………………………………………………………………………………

Parking the truck not far from the university gates, Ye Zhongming nodded at Mo Ye in the other vehicle: “Remember, keep driving, don’t stop for anything. Control your speed; don’t go too fast or too slow. If necessary, you can circle around the campus before finally crashing through the wall across from the supermarket!”

Mo Ye signaled that she understood, rolled up the window, locked the doors, took a deep breath, and slammed on the accelerator.

The heavy truck roared like a ferocious beast as it charged into the campus.

A few seconds later, Ye Zhongming’s heavy truck followed in but was nowhere near as impressive in its momentum as the one driven by Mo Ye.

Arriving at the side of a teaching building, Ye Zhongming parked the truck and looked through the rearview mirror at Liang Chuyin and Park Soo-young, asking, “It’s not too late to have regrets now. Do you need to reconsider?”

Liang Chuyin shook her head, opened the door, and jumped out decisively, her backpack rhythmically bouncing on her graceful back.

Park Soo-young bit her lip, got out of the car, tightly gripping the dagger in her hand, and chased after Liang Chuyin.

Ye Zhongming withdrew his gaze, glanced at the heavy truck that was now just a shadow ahead, and slammed the accelerator down, making the entire vehicle roar away.

The thunderous sounds of the two trucks shattered the tranquility of the campus, specifically breaking the calm of the teaching area.

The startled zombies let out simultaneous roars, filling the teaching area with noise as thousands of zombies rushed toward the heavy truck from all directions.

Sweat rolled down Mo Ye's forehead; she already regretted agreeing to Ye Zhongming's crazy plan.

Crashing the heavy truck into as many zombies as possible? Collecting magic crystals to spin the wheel? It had sounded feasible at the time, but when it came to execution, Mo Ye found it was far more complicated than she had imagined.

The massive size of the vehicle combined with its high speed made it impossible for the zombies to stop such a behemoth. Zombies were constantly sent flying, severed arms and legs, ribs, and internal organs occasionally splattering against the truck’s glass, leaving pools of flesh and blood.

The side windows quickly became smeared with thick, reddish-brown blood, and the front windshield was also covered, obstructing her view.
