Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 357: The Most Valuable Human 💎

Refusing cannot be so straightforward; everyone needs to maintain some face for future cooperation. Thus, Ye Zhongming proposed another alternative.

"I call this item magic crystal. Even if I tell you what it is used for, you won't be able to use it. You should be very clear that I'm speaking the truth. Since you've lived here for generations, if magic crystals could be utilized, they wouldn't be discarded as trash. The reason we can discuss conditions using these 'trash' today is simply because you see my need for them. Since that’s the case, let’s each take what we need and cooperate. There’s no need to know too much; what do you think?"

Afo sensed a slight change in the young man’s attitude, realizing that the last condition had touched on a secret of the other party, and he had been too abrupt. He immediately decided to offer five hundred gray magic crystals as a token of apology.

Ye Zhongming rolled his eyes. This old man really knows how to curry favor. I just said I didn’t want any gray Grade 1 magic crystals, and here you are offering me five hundred! Why not give me five hundred Grade 2 magic crystals instead?

However, since these were a gift, Ye Zhongming had no complaints. At least these could help him quickly recover his mental strength.

"I wonder what alternative method you have mentioned, Ye?" Afo, dedicated to the development of his tribe, quickly inquired about Ye Zhongming’s earlier promise.

Ye Zhongming stroked his chin and asked, "How did you make your weapons before?"

The people in the tent were momentarily taken aback, unsure why Ye Zhongming had suddenly asked this.

However, the method of weapon manufacture was no secret among the posthumous children. It ultimately depended on craftsmanship. Afo briefly explained to Ye Zhongming how they made their weapons and tools, which involved polishing and assembling, with the more advanced methods using his abilities to imbue some magical energy into the weapons.

Ye Zhongming nodded, realizing his guess was correct. The posthumous children, lacking professions and skills, naturally did not have the ability to craft powerful weapons and equipment.

"Give me your bow."

Ye Zhongming glanced around and pointed to the short bow that Miya had exaggeratedly hanging at her waist, saying, "And give me an arrow."

Everyone was puzzled about what Ye Zhongming was doing, and the two hunting team leaders, Dino and Kano, felt a bit tense.

Miya looked at Afo, and after seeing the old man nod, she handed the short bow to Ye Zhongming, accompanied by an arrow.

Ye Zhongming took out some monster teeth and claws he had collected from his backpack. He first pressed the arrow, and after a faint glow appeared, the ordinary bone arrow began to emit a faint gray light.

This miraculous change left Afo and the others dumbfounded, especially Miya, who was right next to Ye Zhongming. Her ample chest nearly pressed against his arm as she took the arrow and examined it from every angle.

Even a fool could see that this arrow was different now.

Ye Zhongming smiled, took out a tendon from a certain monster on Earth, and enchanted it onto the short bow. This worn and somewhat damaged bow immediately radiated a brand-new glow, with the gray light being even brighter than that of the arrow.

As the two items were passed around among those in the tent, Afo even called over two skilled artisans to take a look at the equipment. However, they could hardly recognize such items crafted with the glorious artisan profession skills; they could only marvel at them.

"Let's test the power," Ye Zhongming said. It didn’t matter how good it looked; what everyone cared about was its effectiveness.

The group moved to the side of the camp. Miya held the bow, took a deep breath, and after a moment of stillness, she released the arrow toward the mountain side.

The gray-level bone arrow, powered by the gray-level short bow, shot into the wall with a loud bang. It wasn't merely a penetration; after traveling a certain distance, the arrow exploded, releasing a burst of gray power that blasted a hole in the solid mountain.
