Chapter Two
Ye Zhongming had encountered powerful individuals with strong mental abilities, such as Red Hair and the spirit woman, as well as himself.
However, he had only met one person capable of directly communicating with others through thought, and that was Yangos.
He almost thought that Yangos had taken divine medicine during his days in the secret realm, evolving to who knows how many levels, and had already become human!
Forcing himself to calm down, Ye Zhongming reminded himself that such things were ultimately just legends, and gradually let go of his guard.
“Please come in. The posthumous child hasn’t had guests for a long, long time.”
Ye Zhongming did not move. After looking at the old man for a while, he finally released the woman named Miya.
At this moment, he had no choice but to take the risk.
As these people walked toward the stone hall behind, Ye Zhongming discovered that the space here was becoming larger and larger. Eventually, they reached an open area the size of several football fields, where dozens of tents were scattered around, encircling four burning bonfires in the center.
At this moment, different things were being roasted over these bonfires. On the three outer bonfires, there were pots and pans, and something was cooking inside, with steam rising up.
The largest bonfire in the middle was roasting a sheep-like creature, while a scantily dressed woman was brushing some spices on it, and the fragrant aroma wafted throughout the camp.
As if aware of the arrival of outsiders, the people in the camp came out. There seemed to be nearly two hundred of them, all standing there curiously staring at Ye Zhongming. Several half-grown children even ran close, seemingly extremely interested in Ye Zhongming's clothing. One little girl reached out to touch him, making Ye Zhongming feel a bit nervous.
“Sit.” The old man’s gaze fell on Ye Zhongming, and that voice echoed in his consciousness again, making Ye Zhongming feel slightly uncomfortable.
The old man waved his hand, signaling others to go about their business, and the crowd of onlookers gradually dispersed, leaving only a dozen people. Aside from Miya, most were middle-aged individuals, along with two young but robust men.
“Can you tell me your name? It’s been too long since anyone has come. Also, where do you come from?”
The old man's thought communication speed was somewhat slow.
“Ye.” Ye Zhongming thought for a moment and told them his surname. However, he couldn't communicate as smoothly as the old man, so he could only speak aloud, hoping the old man would understand.
The old man nodded; he seemed to comprehend.
“What is this place? Who are you?” Ye Zhongming saw that the old man understood and continued to ask.
“This land is called Blue, a hope for our survival. We are the posthumous children, humble beings abandoned by the gods, forced to live in the mountain’s belly.”
Blue Secret Realm?
Ye Zhongming muttered it twice, confirming he had no impression of it.
In fact, Ye Zhongming had many questions, such as why there was no sky here yet it didn’t feel blinding, why the monsters had arm magic crystals showing stronger powers, why posthumous children were not evolvers but possessed the strength of evolvers, and why they had to hide in the mountain's belly.
He wondered if he would see someone like himself here, if they had heard of any way to get out...
There were too many questions, but for a moment, Ye Zhongming didn’t know where to start, so he could only remain silent and think about what to do next.
“Try our food; it may be... a bit rough for you.” The old man looked at Ye Zhongming, whose clothing was much more refined compared to their primitive state clad in animal skins, and said, “You can call me Afo, just like my children do.”
The woman roasting meat took out a small knife and skillfully sliced pieces of meat onto a plant leaf, handing it to Ye Zhongming.
Ye Zhongming took it but did not eat immediately.
