Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 351: Necropolis Hill 🌄

Published: February 7, 2025

Although Ye Zhongming did not waste Ghost Gold to enchant himself with several outstanding defensive equipment, the clothes and pants he wore were definitely top-notch among gray-level gear. However, within just a few hours of entering the secret realm, they had turned into scrap.

Yes, it was under the assault of seven or eight skinny second-level monsters that Ye Zhongming's protective clothing was destroyed. Their attacks easily inflicted irreparable damage on these two pieces of gray-level equipment.

After slitting the throat of a small monster with a knife, Ye Zhongming was slightly out of breath.

This secret realm was too strange; not only were the powers of those who entered suppressed, but the small monsters that should have been instantly killed before Ye Zhongming actually exhibited excellent combat abilities. Moreover, they even knew how to cooperate. It was only after he destroyed two pieces of equipment that he managed to kill three of them.

But in the end, Ye Zhongming was a four-star evolver. More importantly, he had an abundance of combat experience. When he realized he couldn't simply crush them with brute force, he quickly changed his fighting style, not rushing to kill these monsters but patiently observing them, identifying their strengths and weaknesses, before seizing the opportunity to strike.

The last monster fell after a full thirty minutes of fighting.

When Ye Zhongming killed the five-level three-tailed demon frog in the Riverbank of Desolation, it took him less than three minutes, yet it took him half an hour to deal with these second-level monsters!

Of course, Ye Zhongming had other means to instantly kill these monsters, but he didn't want to expend his trump cards on these obviously minor threats. After all, he had no idea how long he would need to stay in this place.

After killing these monsters, Ye Zhongming carefully searched the surrounding area. Not finding anything unusual, he began to dig for magic crystals and dissected a few of the creatures.

This typically bloody and disgusting task didn't affect Ye Zhongming at all; he just wanted to see how these things differed from the mutated life forms on Earth.

However, to Ye Zhongming's disappointment, he was not a professional doctor or biologist. Unless there was a particularly significant difference, he couldn't find much of anything. With no answers in sight, Ye Zhongming took the teeth and claws of these monsters as materials for enchantment, gathered a few pieces of Wutong Shaluo Wood in the forest, and then left the area.

As for the rest, he would deal with it when the opportunity arose.

After the attack of these monsters, Ye Zhongming recognized the strangeness of the secret realm and became even more cautious as he continued toward the moderately high mountain peak.

This mountain was not very large, but he had no idea how long it would take to go around it. Ye Zhongming could only choose to cross it. Fortunately, the vegetation here was sparse, mainly covered by some moss and a few low shrubs; aside from the rocks, everything was in plain view, which undoubtedly increased the feeling of safety.

Ye Zhongming wasn't a horse, but he spent half a day climbing to the mountainside, sitting on a stone to rest and replenish some water. As he gazed at the mesmerizing deep starry sky, he still found it hard to accept the fact that there was no alternation of day and night here.

This secret realm should be a planet, yet it lacked the protection of an atmosphere. There was no atmosphere, yet there was oxygen necessary for human breathing. What kind of bizarre place was this? Was there no rotation or revolution happening?

Unable to comprehend this, Ye Zhongming could only give up, put away his water bottle, and continue walking. But just two steps in, he sensed something was off.

The mountains around him were writhing!

The Edge of the Moon hadn't been put away at all; Ye Zhongming jumped back onto the stone where he had just rested and cautiously observed what was happening.
