Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 2700: I Come from the Library Palace (Part One) 📚

Ye Zhongming struggled to lower his arm. As he looked around, he could see several gory wounds revealing white bones underneath.

Just a moment ago, it felt like the entire sky had collapsed.

Or rather, it was the space that had collapsed.

Thanks to the presence of the elemental spirits, Ye Zhongming wasn't too afraid of space-related crises. However, the spatial collapse just now was incomplete; there were cracks in space wreaking havoc everywhere. Ye Zhongming dodged desperately, not wanting to be sucked in or sliced into pieces by these cracks.

In the end, he survived, but he had sustained several severe injuries.

He looked around and saw that the elite squad of dwarves had turned into a ground full of corpses, with confusion and unwillingness written on almost everyone's face.

This was the battle among the higher-ups. Without reaching that level, or having as many survival tactics as Ye Zhongming, when the aftermath of their competition hit, the only thing they could do was to endure and wait for death.

A few rays of light shone down, and Ye Zhongming raised his head. The barrier that had isolated this place had vanished, revealing the lifeless body of the shattered metal beast.

Ye Zhongming flew up and escaped through a relatively larger crack, only to see destruction everywhere.

He felt a bit dazed. The surviving beings around him indicated that this brief but intense war had annihilated a super clan... Ultimately, their side had won.

He felt exhausted, and the pain from his wounds seemed harder to endure than when he was first injured. Yet as Ye Zhongming landed on Divine Artisan City, his eyes brimmed with tears of joy.

This should be considered a miracle, right?

Ye Zhongming asked himself in his mind.

Yes, it should be.

Before this war, the Tarros Red Dwarf was extraordinarily powerful, riding high on a wave of success, frequently attacking and seizing pieces of cake for themselves.

Normally, such shameless behavior would surely provoke public outrage, ultimately leading to backlash. But that could take a long time, far too long for Ye Zhongming to wait.

Cheers erupted below. At first, the sound was small, just a few scattered voices, but soon it grew louder, reaching the skies.

The living beings bore witness to a miraculous war.

It seemed normal for multiple factions to unite to wipe out a race, but they had annihilated the Tarros Red Dwarf, one of the most heavily armed races among All Races of the Universe, comparable only to the other two leader races.

Ye Zhongming felt somewhat lucky. If he hadn't received the support of the Rebel Dragon Race, if he hadn't gained the endorsement of the Library Palace, if he hadn't persuaded the Su Clan Alliance and the musk ke people...

Then what awaited him, if he were fortunate, would be a cosmic escape, wandering endlessly in the vast and mysterious universe until he encountered an unforeseen accident leading to his death.

But that’s just how things are; when fighting for something, it doesn’t feel significant. Yet when the desired result is achieved, a sense of surreal detachment arises.

"Little Ye," Sister Hong arrived next to him in a set of dwarf combat auxiliary gear.

While others might vent their emotions and celebrate wildly after a victory, the people of Cloud Summit were different. In their hearts, the premise of victory was the safety of their leader, so Sister Hong came over immediately.

"Aren't you going to plan the battlefield? There's plenty of good stuff here." Ye Zhongming joked, trying to ease the complicated emotions in his heart.

"Still very orderly, and quite... regulated," Sister Hong said, lifting her visor to reveal her face and scanning below.

After the cheers, cleaning up the battlefield was naturally the top priority.

Without benefits, neither the Su Clan nor the Rebel Dragon Race, nor even the Library Palace, would take such risks due to personal feelings towards Ye Zhongming.

The only reason they could unite to take action against the powerful Tarros Red Dwarf was that there were sufficient benefits to gain.
