Lava erupted into the sky, staining half the horizon red. The sharply rising temperature forced the water elemental members of the Rebel Dragon Race to retreat.
The two columns of lava occupied a vast space, causing the Dragon Race on the other side to withdraw. The defending troops in this area of Divine Artisan City stopped fighting, as the heat compelled them to fall back. Even after using some defensive abilities, they could only slow down the retreat.
Divine Artisan City was a city of metal, and only the Dwarf Race knew the melting point of the special metal used in its construction. However, in the area closest to the lava columns, the city walls, while not melting, began to slowly deform. This terrifying temperature caused many Dwarf generals to panic.
They were unsure how to handle the situation, especially the battle-oriented Dwarfs who were even more frantic. Many ordered their subordinates to fetch water or use water elemental abilities to douse the walls, hoping to stop the deformation and prevent damage that would impact their overall defense.
The result was an abundance of water vapor filling many areas.
This only led to more chaos.
The lava fountain did not last long. At its peak, it solidified in the air into two massive spheres, writhing above Divine Artisan City. From a distance, they resembled two unconventional eggs hatching.
Heiting Yanting and Wutata looked up at the lava spheres blocking the sky, exchanged glances, and increased the energy output from their palms.
They had just caught the Rebel Dragon Race off guard, but attacking again would require a bit more time.
The ray attacks from the Divine Eye were indeed powerful, but the consumption was unimaginable. Even the two peak divine artisans could only fire intermittently.
However, the two molten spheres did not seem inclined to give them that opportunity.
At the same time, both spheres cracked open, spewing small lava dragons toward the position of the Divine Eye like bursting spores.
A cacophony erupted around the protective shield of the Divine Eye as these small lava dragons collided with it, each explosion releasing sticky liquid that clung to the shield. The high temperature produced hissing sounds as the lava flowed, resembling a swarm of snakes flicking their tongues.
Divine Artisan City trembled.
The movement was slight, but the frequency instilled a deep-seated fear in those within it.
This was merely a spell, yet it held the power to shake a massive metal city, and the caster was only a peak dragon from the Dragon Race.
There were still many such dragons.
For the first time, numerous Dwarfs felt uncertain or even pessimistic about the outcome.
Especially as the city gates had already been opened, the forthcoming battle was shrouded in uncertainty.
“Hold on, help is on the way,” a message began to circulate among the defenders and residents of Divine Artisan City.
“Hold on, someone will come to help us.”
“Hold on, reinforcements are on the way.”
“Hold on, we have many friends.”
Perhaps the content that reached each place was different, but hope was infused into the unstable hearts of the Dwarfs in this manner.
The defenders, who had been thrown into disarray due to the broken walls and the shaking of the city, gradually regained their resilience and clashed with the frenzied Rebel Dragon Race.
“This old guy’s strength has reached this level,” Qianchu, severely wounded, staggered to his feet and looked up at the terrifying spells unleashed by his kin with a sigh.
In his view, Xuanyan’s strength had reached a level comparable to his, only slightly weaker than that of the lord of the clan.
The attacks from the two lava spheres were incredibly swift, with an intensity surpassing any previous assault. The shield around the Divine Eye held for only a few seconds before shattering.
A ray shot out, accurately hitting one of the lava spheres blocking the Divine Eye. The sphere, which had shrunk significantly due to the continuous lava drakes, was pierced and exploded.
