Aegnas looked at the dwarf in front of the light barrier, his brow furrowed.
There is indeed communication among peak experts, especially among those of the same race. If there are multiple peak experts, frequent sparring and discussions can benefit everyone greatly.
Although the taboo between peak experts from different races isn't as strict as it is within their own race, if the respective races belong to the same camp and have a good relationship, or if there are personal connections, communication is also quite frequent.
However, as one of the peak experts from the Lena People, Aegnas and Jie Luo belonged to two different factions and had no personal ties. Given this situation, Jie Luo suddenly seeking him out made Aegnas have a bad premonition.
“Lord Aegnas.” Jie Luo's attitude toward Aegnas was clearly better than that towards Weipu, not just because Aegnas was backed by the powerful Lena People, but also because Aegnas was an old-school peak expert with formidable strength. As for qualifications and seniority, few from the Tarros Red Dwarf could compare, and Jie Luo was not one of them.
Aegnas nodded slightly, his gaze penetrating through the light barrier as if trying to discern something.
“It is like this; there is a matter where I hope to gain Lord Aegnas's assistance.” Jie Luo looked at the man within the light barrier and said, “As you know, we have encountered some issues recently. So, may I ask, Lord, is it Gu Ban who is bringing back that peak dark giant dragon?”
Jie Luo did not hide anything and spoke directly. After all, the dwarves around the energy factory were nearly turning everything upside down, and their search for information regarding the peak dark giant dragon had long since leaked out.
Aegnas tilted his head slightly, looking at Jie Luo. “You have not yet earned the right to question me, Aegnas. Heiting Yanting is more acceptable.”
As a peak expert from a super clan, especially an old-school one, Aegnas had his pride, and he was not afraid of these dwarves.
Weipu feared the Tarros Red Dwarf because his abilities were average, and he had no backing. Comparing the dwarves with Gu Ban and Ji Si'an made it easy for him to choose.
Giving up on Gu Ban would indeed result in a significant financial loss each year, but it was still better than offending the Tarros Red Dwarf.
But Aegnas was different; he was not afraid of offending Jie Luo. Moreover, the matter was not caused by Gu Ban. Currently, the relationship between these dwarves and the Lena People was also average, so he spoke with confidence.
Due to their respective statuses, Aegnas did not cut off the communication.
Jie Luo fell silent for a moment, glancing at several other companions who stood quietly, then suddenly smiled.
“Lord Aegnas, we from the Tarros Red Dwarf have recently sacrificed two peak experts, one of whom was our own kin. We were robbed of a sub-artifact, and hundreds of elite warriors from the mechanical legion perished.”
“We are very saddened, we are very angry. Our desire to find the culprit and annihilate him and his entire race is incredibly strong… no matter who the culprit is.”
“Those who help us are friends, while those who obstruct us are enemies.”
Jie Luo's speech was not fast, but her tone grew increasingly resolute. As she spoke, her gaze locked onto Aegnas, staring at him.
“Lord Aegnas, we do not wish to offend you and the race behind you, but at this point, these dwarves you speak of really do not care much about who the enemy is.”
“We only need a definitive answer.”
As Jie Luo spoke, the other dwarves moved closer to her side.
Aegnas glanced at them, his mind lost in thought. A moment later, he said one sentence before cutting off the communication.
Jie Luo and the others remained silent for a while, replaying the message in their minds, two of them even checking their terminals.
“If it were someone else and not Aegnas, I truly would not believe it. I can hardly imagine someone like him doing such a big business with Gu Ban.”
