Chapter 2595: Underground Dark Struggle (Part 2) 🌑

Without any understanding of the heavenly decay ability, the likelihood of these mecha warriors making mistakes increased significantly as they tried to respond.

They didn't expect that even after leaping out of the mecha, the damage from these disgusting substances would be so severe in just a few seconds.

A large portion of them had only brought their weapons and no additional equipment, after all, they were wearing advanced mechanical battle armor, whose protective and combat capabilities were comparable to renyi level. In fact, when used in conjunction, they could be even better than renyi level. They were accustomed to fighting in these suits and had never experienced failure.

Given this, bringing other equipment became meaningless.

This long-standing habit made them suffer at this very moment. Occasionally, a few had brought additional gear and quickly donned it as they leaped out, but even they couldn't avoid getting some corrosive liquid on them; still, it was better than their companions.

Out of dozens of people who came over, more than three-quarters were lying on the ground, writhing in pain. Even though they had applied medicine and their realms were decent, they couldn't eliminate this ghastly substance that was rapidly drilling into their bodies.

Some of the dwarves, upon discovering their companions' plight, simply cut off the infected parts of their bodies, managing to rid themselves of the substance, though becoming disabled was inevitable.

As for the remaining mecha warriors still within the range of heavenly decay, they no longer dared to jump out and could only desperately charge in this direction.

Ye Zhongming naturally wouldn't let them off easy; he continued to harvest their lives from behind.

By the time the last fortunate soldier of the mechanical legion arrived, the captain, who had also escaped, counted the numbers and realized that in just a short span of approximately two minutes, out of the two hundred who had entered, there were fewer than fifty left. Moreover, more than half of them obviously wouldn't survive for long as the corrosive liquid had already invaded their bodies, making it impossible to cut off infected body parts.

At that moment, a loud noise came from Lord Luoxu's side. The battle between two peak experts caused the solid, all-metal roof to collapse.

Lord Luoxu's voice came through, not giving them orders but rather a roar filled with anger, which usually only emerged during battles, particularly when things weren't going smoothly.

At the same time, the person attacking them revealed himself, although he still did not appear directly before them; instead, he stood amidst the black substance, no longer moving, staring coldly at them.

"Any remaining fighters, come!" the captain gritted his teeth and shouted.

Eleven mechas clustered around him.

"Hold on, our brothers above will be here soon."

With a collapse here, the ground's remaining team would definitely come over; perhaps help would arrive within ten seconds.

No matter what, they needed to hold on for that short period.

To the captain's surprise, the attacker still didn't launch an assault, remaining there as if waiting for something.

Some sounds came through; the remaining mecha warriors' relatively intact communication systems began to pick up anxious calls from ground companions, as the signal interference was diminishing with the reduction in distance.

After a moment, a loud boom came from a certain position, causing another area to collapse, which was done by the dwarves on the ground.

They had discovered that peak realm beings were engaged in battle and did not choose to enter from that side.

With the communication restored, the captain quickly reported the situation here, and when Lord Zique and his men entered underground, they immediately locked onto Ye Zhongming within that black substance.

Lord Zique glanced over there, judging that while Lord Luoxu hadn't yet defeated his opponent, the situation was at least stable. What he needed to do now was eliminate this guy who had caused significant casualties to the mechanical legion.
