CHAPTER TEXT:
Longku stood beside the vehicle, leaning against the carriage, playing with a smooth mechanical sphere, lost in thought as he gazed at the dark world ahead.
“Boss.” A dozen subordinates approached and stood beside Longku.
Longku grunted in response but continued to stare into the distance.
“Boss, are we really not going up?” One subordinate looked at the distant peaks with slight confusion and expressed his worry.
“Why do you want to go up?” Longku withdrew his gaze and looked at this subordinate.
The subordinate was momentarily taken aback.
“Well, boss, let Shiqiluo Zha go up by himself. What if he…” The subordinate stammered slightly under Longku's fierce gaze but still expressed his concern.
Longku reached out and patted the subordinate's head, scolding, “How many times has the clan leader told us not to draw a clear line between us and those subordinate races on the first layer? We need to see them as companions!”
“Are you really taking this to heart? Our Tarros Red Dwarfs have achieved their current status thanks to their tremendous efforts and contributions. Even now, they are irreplaceable; many tasks must be completed by them, do you understand?”
“And now, the overall environment among the All Races of the Universe is quite troubling, with many factors causing instability. Just recently, a large clan was collectively exterminated, and a peak expert was killed—no one knows who did it.”
“It's been years since such events have occurred. Don't you realize? At any moment, we might clash with some major powers. If that happens, will our main faction fight it out? If a real war breaks out and lasts for decades, how many of us will survive?”
Hearing this, the subordinates nodded repeatedly; they understood these matters, but their worries extended beyond this.
“That exterminated race once provided us with information, and we almost traced those people back to their source. Unfortunately, that lead blew themselves up before capture, and we don't even know which race they belonged to.”
Longku added, his voice trailing off as he pondered something.
“Boss, did that exterminated race get wiped out for helping us betray those people?” the subordinate asked.
“It’s hard to say. But after investigation, they haven't offended anyone much in the past century. They have conflicts with some races, but those races didn't have the strength to exterminate them. Moreover, their conflicts didn’t warrant such heavy-handed actions. After thinking it over, it seems those people are left as the only suspects,” Longku said coldly.
This matter was significant, and Longku had no authority to investigate it. Even if he went, he didn’t have the capacity to unravel it clearly, at least not in the short term.
All this was being investigated by the clan, and feedback was sent to Longku afterwards.
Because of this, the clan had recently dispatched many more personnel to look into the matter.
If they didn't stand up for the exterminated race and defend their interests, no one would turn to the Tarros Red Dwarfs in the future.
So, in the past fifty to sixty days, the entire dwarf community had been quite busy.
Moreover, the dwarfs were already prepared to thoroughly investigate this matter, but unexpectedly, equipment trading had resurfaced, and in such large quantities that the dwarfs were nearly driven mad.
Their business had plummeted within these twenty days.
This made them even angrier, nearly mobilizing all their forces to investigate the situation.
At first, these channels were tough to track down; those shipping points were extremely cautious.
But later, the exposed flaws increased.
However, upon tracing it to the end, the dwarfs discovered that these channels, though seemingly hidden and chaotic, bore the shadows of several super clans.
The Su Clan and the musk ke people were at the forefront, along with two super clans from the Lena People.
These super clans were cunning and left no evidence that these goods came from them, even if you suspected they were behind it.
