Although the Dragon Race had made promises, Ye Zhongming still felt a bit worried.
He hurried over to check on the Earth Spirit's illuminating salvation once it was completed, while also communicating with the little guy.
From its appearance, illuminating salvation was still easy to identify. The Earth Spirit's body was surrounded by a soft halo that glowed faintly white. If one didn't look closely, it was easy to mistake it for part of the Earth Spirit's body.
Ye Zhongming poked it with his hand and surprisingly felt some softness and elasticity. Where he touched, the halo rippled outward, and then immediately refreshed, the thin membrane returning to its original state.
From the feedback from the Earth Spirit, Ye Zhongming knew the little guy wasn't experiencing any discomfort; on the contrary, it felt a bit comfortable. However, since this protective ability didn't strictly belong to the spirit, it had no other feelings apart from that little bit of comfort and safety.
Ye Zhongming felt completely reassured. After thinking for a moment, he decided not to test the defense ability on the elemental spirit directly.
After all, the Dragon Race had it tough too; the elder who released this skill looked a bit fatigued and was resting on the side.
Ye Zhongming's gaze turned to the leader of the Dragon Race.
The brilliance he had always thought was a piece of equipment was, as Chao Yang just informed him, the 'body brilliance' that appeared only when a light elemental giant dragon reached an extremely profound realm, a manifestation of abundant energy.
Chao Yang also mentioned that at the leader's level, it could probably counteract the toxicity accumulated over time. However, that would only hold true during its prime; once the leader aged and their body began to weaken, the toxicity would increase until one day it surpassed the leader's inherent abilities and completely erupted.
Nevertheless, even so, the leader's level determined that it would have a lifespan comparable to that of a normal dragon. In the case of the Rebel Dragon Race, it would be considered a natural end.
The Star Spirit, who had just been curiously flying around like Ye Zhongming, suddenly sensed a consciousness. It turned its head, looked toward Ye, tilted its head in thought, and then flew over.
"Good child, don't be afraid." Ye's voice came through, followed by a beam of light descending from the sky, landing on the Star Spirit.
Immediately, the Star Spirit quieted down, appearing quite comfortable as its body gently swayed.
Then a thin light armor, very similar to that of the Earth Spirit, attached itself to its body.
After the light faded, the two little guys looked even more similar in appearance.
"All done." Ye's voice came again, this time directed at Ye Zhongming.
"Although illuminating salvation is a completely defensive ability, its essence is still elemental power. The affinity of light elements is the best among all elements, which means it can accommodate or attach to any force. This is one of the reasons why I promised that applying this ability to the spirits wouldn't be a problem."
"Once this layer of light armor has been on them for a while, they will truly merge as one. Due to the spirits' inherent nature, the light armor will transform into their attribute type, and the benefits will undergo a completely new change."
Ye Zhongming listened, slightly surprised.
Such an ability, with future benefits like this?
"You have elemental spirits. Although I'm not sure what they can bring you, the energy they carry is very pure, and in some ways, it might even be purer than ours in the Dragon Race. Or rather, they are the source of elemental energy."
