Chapter 2528: The Poor Dragon Clan 🐉

Published: February 13, 2025

Ye Zhongming watched the elders of the Dragon Race ascend into the sky, gradually disappearing into the clouds and mist, and felt a significant relief.

The sensation of having eight peak giant dragons staring at you together was not a pleasant memory.

Ye Zhongming wasn't sure how they had discussed things; perhaps they had conferred before coming, or maybe they were using some secret methods unique to the Dragon Race.

Regardless, it seemed that this matter could be resolved.

Xuanyan had stayed behind, along with a purple-black earth elemental dragon elder named Rang Tang.

"Isn't it strange that they all left?" Perhaps it was because they had truly decided to cooperate with Ye Zhongming, so both Xuanyan and Rang Tang treated him relatively well. The imposing aura they carried had also receded, allowing Ye Zhongming to speak and think without the overwhelming pressure bearing down on him.

"I believe you two must have reached a consensus, and you can communicate clearly with me," Ye Zhongming said, though deep down, he didn't truly think the Dragon Race regarded him as a partner. To put it plainly, he held something they needed. Without his cooperation, they wouldn't be able to obtain it, which was why they were treating him kindly.

However, in their hearts and consciousness, they would never see him as an equal; the power disparity between them was far too great.

It was so vast that the Dragon Race could not even envision a day when Ye Zhongming could stand shoulder to shoulder with them.

Seeing two powerful figures within the Dragon Race, Ye Zhongming constantly reminded himself that they... did not truly value him.

"Yes, the two of us can make decisions independently," Xuanyan said, her gaze landing on the massive wheel nearby.

"We come from the Flying Lizard Clan, you know that, right?" Xuanyan continued without waiting for Ye Zhongming's response, "Heh, I'm not trying to connect with them through family ties. Over the years, any planet can evolve from a single cell into a highly intelligent life form; it's best to draw clear boundaries between us."

Ye Zhongming shrugged, listening to Xuanyan complaining about the Flying Lizard Clan.

However, he could understand the sentiments of this Dragon Race elder to some extent.

The Flying Lizard Clan was not particularly strong, especially when compared to the current Rebel Dragon Race.

According to Ye Zhongming's estimation, at least eight elders from the Rebel Dragon Race were peak experts, and the absent patriarch of the Dragon Race must also be one, totaling at least nine peak experts.

Did the Flying Lizard Clan have nine peak experts? It seemed not.

"Although it doesn't matter now, our ancestors separated because they encountered some incredible events. As generations passed, the actual circumstances became increasingly obscure," Elder Xuanyan's voice was low, and Red Boy, who was also hearing this for the first time, listened intently, feeling as though he had stumbled upon a hidden treasure.

If he had not been defeated by this person and forced to become his battle beast, he would likely never have heard this before taking on the position of elder of the fire elemental dragon.

"What has been passed down is just that we were taken to a place, received some training and cultivation, and after several generations, we were thrown here."

"Since then, the Rebel Dragon Race has been thriving here, depending on the mist that benefits us immensely. Each generation has grown strong."

"However, we are also cursed, and the toxins in our bodies cannot be removed."

"Many years later, we finally understood, no, it's not that we understood, but we had a sort of speculation."

Xuanyan looked at Ye Zhongming and said, "We came here on a mission: to guard these wheels, preventing any foreign life from finding this place and interacting with them."

"The mist here allows us to train more easily, and it is our reward. It enables every single Rebel Dragon to grow strong, even if their talents are lacking; with a few more years of training, they can break through."
