Everyone turned their heads in unison to look at the sky behind them.
There, a colossal red giant dragon was hovering, its imposing presence looking down on the crowd below with a disdainful gaze, as if they were nothing more than ants destined to die.
The body of the Red Boy was already quite large; neither Yangos nor the white dragon horse could compare. However, in comparison to this giant dragon, Red Boy still fell short.
It hovered there as if it blocked out half the sky.
Apart from its massive size, what left a lasting impression was the faint red light radiating from its body, which could not be hidden even in the red mist. Everyone had sharp eyesight and could see beneath the red light the mysterious ancient patterns engraved on the dragon's scales.
It felt as though each scale had intricate designs etched into it.
Additionally, its dragon whiskers were extremely long, constantly swaying in the air, creating an illusion of distorted space around them.
No one doubted that this was a peak realm fire elemental dragon.
Commander Cheng Liujin and the Lai Lai Bird stood up, regrouping the members of the clan leader's guard, holding their shields at an angle towards the sky.
Under the pressure of a peak giant dragon, escape was impossible; perhaps resistance... well, honestly, there wasn’t much chance of survival there either, but it was certainly better than surrendering without a fight.
The only one who didn’t seem to react much was Ye Zhongming.
He looked up at the giant dragon and smiled slightly.
"You are right about everything."
Ye Zhongming's words echoed in the air.
Red Boy twitched its body, suddenly feeling some pain in its teeth, unsure how to respond to this statement.
The peak giant dragon in the sky also remained silent; it was truly... not accustomed to such conversations.
I say, I want to kill you. The target replies, "Hmm, you're right."
This... felt like a conversation that had hit a dead end.
"However, before you kill me, this fellow here must die." Ye Zhongming pointed at Red Boy and then raised the Soul Token.
"You see, this thing cannot be released by you. If you kill me, it will die as well." Ye Zhongming continued, "Furthermore, I can command it to attack you. If you don’t fight back, it will likely end badly for you; if you do fight back, you will have to kill it yourself. Of course, you could just come over and kill me, and it would still die."
The giant dragon above did not get angry but instead displayed a very human-like expression, saying, "Then I can kill them."
The peak fire elemental dragon referred to the Lai Lai Bird and Commander Cheng Liujin.
"You are right about everything."
Again, that phrase; in such a situation, it always brought some inexplicable amusement.
"But it still has to die." Ye Zhongming continued to point at Red Boy, "If you kill all the life here, it will also die."
"You may not care about the lives of your companions, but I do not care about its life either. A member of the same race, already controlled by humans, has no real meaning or value in surviving."
The voice of the fire elemental dragon echoed around, creating an illusion that it was about to swoop down.
At the same time, above everyone’s heads, the vast expanse of red clouds ignited, signaling that a rain of fire was about to descend.
This phenomenon, reminiscent of nature’s wrath, weighed heavily on everyone’s shoulders. If it weren’t for the decent strength of those present, this pressure would have likely caused them to break down entirely.
"Really? Respected... Elder Xuanyan?"
Ye Zhongming paid no heed to the pressure and pointed out the identity of the agitated peak giant dragon.
Instantly, the members of the Star-Eye Clan felt a significant relief.
Oh, so this is a dragon race elder, huh? So, Red Boy is his... how many generations down? Anyway, it's a direct descendant.
If that's the case, there might still be room for negotiation.
"Elder Xuanyan, if you truly wanted to kill someone and didn't care about your descendant's life, you would have acted the moment you arrived. So, let's skip the useless chatter and talk business."
