Ye Zhongming looked at Luo She, who had turned into a dry corpse in just a few seconds. Instead of feeling joy after his victory, he found it puzzling.
Luo She was too weak.
Indeed, Ye Zhongming had invisibility, teleportation, and was at the divine level. These were nearly lethal weapons in battle. However, the power he could exert at the divine level was limited at the moment, and when he attacked earlier, he wasn’t in an invisible state. Only the teleportation posed a real threat, but it wasn’t a fatal one, especially at the beginning of the confrontation.
Yet, Luo She, even if he was ambushed and injured in both hands, and despite not wearing any decent equipment, shouldn't have died without a fight.
Ye Zhongming crouched down and carefully examined Luo She’s body. Apart from a piece of spatial equipment, there didn't seem to be any other abnormalities.
This piece of spatial equipment was not a problem for Ye Zhongming; he directly tore it open and took out its contents.
At that moment, the two clan leaders of the Star-Eye Clan and Commander Cheng Liujin, along with Pao Bai, had already arrived. Upon seeing Luo She’s corpse, they all displayed complex expressions, especially the two clan leaders; after all, he had been their master, and most of their skills originated from this man. With their master dead, they felt a sense of responsibility.
Ye Zhongming ignored them and focused on Luo She’s belongings.
What caught his attention the most were several bottles containing a green substance, which was the essence found in the hearts of peak experts that had been ripened by the green liquid.
Ye Zhongming directly collected them. Not only that, but he also instructed the three small race peak experts, who had entered and were caught in an awkward situation, to gather the essence from the hearts of the opponents they had killed and hand it over to him.
The three, feeling embarrassed, immediately complied.
Besides these, there were some miscellaneous items, including equipment like Moon Age Gold. Although valuable, they were insignificant to Ye Zhongming now, so he merely glanced at them and moved on.
Finally, he found a piece of green moss whose purpose he didn’t know.
Ye Zhongming flipped it over, initially cautious, fearing it might be poisonous or something else. However, after experimenting for a while and finding no issues, he confidently held it in his hand.
Yet, after staring at it for a long time, he discovered that apart from its durability, it had no other apparent properties.
Luo She had returned to the Star-Eye Clan almost empty-handed. Most of the items in his spatial equipment were obtained while he was in the clan, including the crimson condensation level equipment personally crafted by Ye Zhongming. Aside from that, there was just this square piece of green moss, about thirty centimeters on each side.
This moss... Ye Zhongming thought for a moment, noticing its color, and suddenly felt it resembled the green liquid. He tried to break off a piece but found it impossible.
After some thought, Ye Zhongming had someone bring over some water and placed the moss in it. To his surprise, instead of turning the water green as expected, the moss began to grow rapidly, transforming from moss into a patch of grass within a few minutes.
The people around looked at each other, puzzled about what this was.
After a while, the grass, which had grown over fifty centimeters tall, automatically shed from the moss and floated in the water tank.
Ye Zhongming fished out a handful, inspected it closely, and after some thought, he snapped a blade of grass, observing the fluid that seeped from the wound, then leaned closer to sniff it. He confirmed that the fluid from the grass was indeed that green liquid.
What remained unknown was whether this piece of green moss could infinitely produce this grass when placed in water.
That would require further experimentation. For now, Ye Zhongming could only handle matters regarding the Star-Eye Clan.
