While the team from the Su Clan was engaged in battle, the Cloud Summit Quartet was also experiencing their largest solo hunt since entering the novice battle arena.
The cause? It was simply a remark from Yama Tree.
After a regular hunt, Yama Tree suddenly expressed her desire to test a certain ability. Neither Liang Chuyin, who was responsible for commanding, nor Xia Bai, who was in the throes of excitement, had any objections. As for Gao Yi, he had little standing in front of the three women.
An hour later, the four of them set their sights on a group of three hundred mutated creatures as their target.
The reason for choosing such a large number of mutated creatures was twofold: firstly, such a prey group was not something an ordinary team could attempt; secondly, the location of these creatures was quite remote. The journey to reach it was not only difficult but also meant they would have to return the same way after the hunt.
The efficiency of such a hunt would surely not be very high, but for the Cloud Summit Quartet, who needed to experiment with a new ability, this was the perfect setting.
Yama Tree instructed the others to stay back. She then walked directly towards the prey alone. Once these mutated creatures spotted her and became enraged, they charged at her in a frenzy.
Yama Tree remained remarkably calm. As the mutated creatures came within thirty meters of her, she elegantly spread her arms wide, resembling a bird learning to fly, and began to flap her arms continuously.
With her movements, numerous translucent leaves manifested in front of her. These leaves were irregularly oval-shaped, with clear patterns, and their edges bore small, dense, and sharp curved blades.
These leaves formed a wall before Yama Tree. The first wave of charging prey crashed into it, and the sound of their bodies being sliced open echoed through the air. At least a dozen creatures were cut up badly, unable to stop themselves, and collapsed to the ground, howling in agony.
The other mutated creatures, who managed to halt their charge, immediately split into two groups, flanking her from the left and right to continue their assault.
At that moment, the wall of green leaves controlled by Yama Tree moved. They swirled like rotating gears, surging into the two groups of mutated creatures.
The sounds of flesh being torn apart melded into a continuous cacophony!
This situation lasted for about two minutes. When the last energy leaf vanished, the remaining mutated creatures standing in the arena could be counted on one hand.
Yama Tree then lowered her arms, signaling the other three that it was time to enter and reap the rewards.
After Yama Tree's attack, the number of mutated creatures that had actually died was not very high—only about forty to fifty at most.
Most of the others were merely injured, their bodies riddled with countless cuts, losing not only their combat capability but also more than half of their mobility.
“Miss Luo Luo, unleash the big move!” Gao Yi exclaimed excitedly, slaughtering the fallen mutated creatures that could only cry out in pain, delighted as his score continued to climb.
“It’s somewhat like Nature of the World,” Xia Bai remarked while clearing the remaining mutated creatures around Yama Tree. She could tell that Yama Tree had expended quite a bit of energy and turned to inquire after hearing Gao Yi's comment.
This ability indeed resembled the powerful group attack skill, Nature of the World, that Yama Tree used after transforming into her true form. It seemed to have a smaller range and slightly reduced attack power, however.
Yama Tree nodded in agreement and said, “These past days of assisting you, I've felt that just binding our targets is still too inefficient. The lives here aren't significantly lower in level than us on Earth; once they can’t move, they can only be at our mercy. These guys, even when standing still, can still cause us quite a bit of trouble. This restricts us to targeting groups of fewer than a hundred, which I find too slow. So, I modified Nature of the World, reduced its power, and it doesn't require a transformation to release. It’s just support after all; we don’t need to do it that way. Just making their combat capability drop significantly is enough.”
